G3 – 1000m – Turf

Sestilio Jet
Did win over 1000m much earlier in his career but is more accustomed to racing over further now. Best performance of the current season was when third of six over 1200m at Maisons-Laffitte last month – perhaps a career best. Still, a bit more needed here.

The Broghie Man
This Irish-trained gelding’s two wins have come on a slow surface. In the past year he has been pretty well beaten on all starts and whilst he may be best after a break (he hasn’t raced since last November) ratings suggest he has a bit to find here.

Forza Capitano
His proven form is all over further than this though he is speedy enough. Responded to persistent urgings from his rider to win over 1300m on the Chantilly all-weather two starts back but couldn’t launch a serious challenge from midfield – also on the all-weather – at Lingfield last time.

Coco City
Was being squeezed along throughout in a Listed event at Deauville last July but did respond and grabbed the money close home – his third consecutive win. Not quite so good since but at his best, he’s got chances here.

Gold Vibe
Missed the break and also got outpaced at one stage so his second in this race last year counts as a strong effort. Also only just beaten by Mabs Cross – surely one of Europe’s top sprinters – in the G1 Prix de L’Abbaye here in October. Has the edge on ratings here. Likes good ground according to his trainer.

Batwan
Has won over as far as 1600m, but seems quite adaptable distancewise, showing plenty of speed throughout when runner-up over 1100m in a well-contested Listed event at Fontainebleu in March. That was his first start after being gelded, and that may have improved him.

Ken Colt
A confirmed speedster whose two wins have come over 1000m and 1100m, on good and soft ground. Should be sharper for his first start of 2019 when second in a well contested dash at Chantilly last month.

Bakoel Koffie
His strike rate on grass is not high. But his last two starts look to have been clear career best performances including when showing tidy acceleration to justify favouritism over 1100m at Fontainebleu last time, some of these rivals struggling behind him.

Sosume
Had some OK efforts with one win in eight starts for a shrewd UK trainer. Not beaten far on his debut for this trainer in a 1200m conditions’ race at Maisons-Laffitte last month. But on facts and figures his chance here appears bleak.
