The Licensing Committee has resolved to
- grant an extension of licence to Club Jockey Martin Harley for the period from 8 May 2019 to the conclusion of the current 2018/2019 racing season, both dates inclusive;
- grant an extension of licence to Club Jockey Regan Bayliss for the period from 25 May 2019 to the conclusion of the current 2018/2019 racing season, both dates inclusive;
- grant, subject to the usual formalities, a Club Jockey’s licence to Aldo Domeyer for the period from 1 May 2019 to the conclusion of the current 2018/2019 racing season, both dates inclusive.
The profile of Jockey Aldo Domeyer.
Having been crowned Champion South African Apprentice Jockey in 2010, Jockey Domeyer has steadily built his reputation to be considered in the top bracket of South African riders with 980 career wins to his credit. He has attained Group 1 success courtesy of MARTIAL EAGLE in the 2013 J&B Met Stakes, SILVER MOUNTAIN in the 2015 Cape Fillies Guineas and CLOUDS UNFOLD in the 2019 Majorca Stakes. Jockey Domeyer’s 3 Group 1 wins are complimented by 10 Group 2 wins and 16 wins at Group 3 level. Jockey Domeyer has also gained international recognition by virtue of his success in the 2018 Singapore International Jockey Challenge. Jockey Domeyer has advised his minimum riding weight as 119 lbs.
