| 10 | Dubhe | Charlie Appleby trained visitor who’s won three of seven starts. Not raced since February when won Rating 104 Handicap, at this distance, by four lengths from Red Galileo at Meydan (Dubai). Promising stayer who’s won on good and soft ground. Trainer won this in 2017. |
| 11 | Midterm | Impressive on-pace win by 2 lengths from Big Duke in G3 Manion Cup (2400m), on heavy ground, at Rosehill on 23 March at second run this year. Also capable on better ground and all recent runs have been sound. |
| 12 | Glory Days | New Zealand galloper who boasts 10 wins under good, soft and heavy track conditions. Settled last and finished strongly at most recent run when scored two lengths win from Five To Midnight in G1 Auckland Cup, at this distance, at Ellerslie on 9 March. Can’t be underestimated. |
| 13 | Zacada | Drew wide and settled back when 6.8 lengths 15th to Gallic Chieftain in G2 Chairman’s Quality (2600m), on soft ground, at this track last Saturday. Did run nose second, at 90/1, in this race last year. Firmer ground would suit. |
| 14 | Gallic Chieftain | Finished strongly for 0.5 lengths win from Shraaoh in G2 Chairman’s Quality (2600m), on soft ground, at this track last Saturday. Made good progression this year and also capable on firmer ground. |
| 15 | Rondinella | Sound effort 2.5 lengths 3rd to Avilius in G1 Tancred Stakes (2400m), on heavy ground, at Rosehill on 30 March. Handles all conditions but note three wins and two placings from only five starts on good ground. |

| 18 | Top Of The Range | Ran on well when 1.7 lengths 2nd to Surprise Baby in G2 Adelaide Cup (3200m) at Morphettville on 11 March. This is harder but that was encouraging performance at first attempt this distance. Prefer on good ground. |
| 19 | Rodrico | Struck interference when 3.8 lengths 9th to Gallic Chieftain in G2 Chairman’s Quality (2600m), on soft ground, at this track last Saturday. Possible improver. |
| 20 | Doukhan | No luck in running when 6.3 lengths 6th to Avilius in G1 Tancred Stakes (2400m), on heavy ground, at Rosehill on 30 March. Import who has not won since November 2017 but fair, recent form gives him rough chance. |
