The “Lucky Start January 1 Raceday” will be held at Sha Tin Racecourse this coming  Tuesday and racing fans can enjoy an array of fabulous on-course activities to bring good luck for 2019.

Immediate good fortune will greet racegoers, with each person receiving a stylish tote bag upon admission. The offer will continue until the start of Race 6 or while stocks last.

“Lucky Stars” Moon Lau and Dickson Yu will rove around the Public Forecourt at Sha Tin Racecourse to meet and greet racegoers. 

Racing fans everywhere will benefit from “Lucky Start” top-ups on 1 January. For the Triple Trio, the payout for a single $10 winning unit is expected to reach $18 million. Meanwhile, the Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for Race 7 and Race 11 will be topped up with $1 million each.

On the track, the day’s highlight will be the first Group race for 2019, the Group 3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup Handicap (1400m), to be run on turf as Race 9.

A range of spectacular on-course activities will be staged on the day.
· A brand new range of Lucky Series merchandise will be available at designated sales counters and the Gift at Races souvenir shops at Sha Tin Racecourse.
· A variety of New Year specialty dishes will be available at Mezza One for racegoers’ dining enjoyment.
· Share the photos taken on 1 January at Sha Tin Racecourse on Instagram (account has to be set for public viewing) with the hashtag #LuckyStart for a chance to take home fabulous prizes.

There will be 11 races on the day with the first starting at 12:30 pm. Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 10:30 am for admission.
