| 1 | Elite Power | Racing in career best form and turned in another solid last start effort when second over 1000m. One previous attempt over 1200m and finished second. Rates a chance. |
| 2 | Nepean | Handy five-year-old who is resuming from a 119-day break. Trialled well recently and can run a good race fresh. |
| 3 | Captain Jamie | Freshened up since failing last start but has since trialled well. Include in the exotic chances. |
| 4 | Siam Blue Vanda | Highly promising three-year-old who remains unbeaten in three starts. Massive effort to win last start and looks the horse to beat. |
| 5 | Awesome | Nice performance last start when he recorded the fastest final 400m sectional time when checking in seventh. Include in exotic chances. |
| 6 | Oxbow Sun | Hard to recommend on current form and not suited here. |
| 7 | Lim’s Dashing | Back in-form when winning an easier Class 4 Non-Premier race. This appears much tougher. |
| 8 | Star Empire | Freshened up since last start failure and is proven over this distance. Can run well. |
| 9 | Calculation | Unbeaten in his two career starts when defeating moderate opposition. This is a much better field and his first real test. |
| 10 | King Of War | Winner of his last two starts against moderate opposition and he will find this much tougher. Place chance at best. |
| 11 | Time To Rock | Failed to show up at her two Singapore starts since arriving from Australia. Not suited here. |
| 12 | Cousteau | Racing consistently and will appreciate a light weight. Quartet chance. |
| 13 | Snip | Unplaced at six attempts in this class and is better suited in an easier grade. |
