| 6 | Winx | Champion mare who chases her 29th consecutive win and her fourth straight win in this race. Defied slow pace and awkward spot in running when one length winner from Youngstar in G1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on 6 October. Obviously the horse to beat. |
| 7 | Rostropovich | Northern hemisphere four-year-old as was stablemate Adelaide who won this race in 2014. Ran half length 2nd to Latrobe in G1 Irish Derby (2400m) in June. Last start won by half length from Giuseppe Garibaldi in the G3 Kilternan Stakes at Leopardstown on 15 September. |
| 8 | Savvy Coup | New Zealand filly who was last start 2 lengths winner from Lizzie L’amour in G1 Livamol Classic (2040m) at Hastings (NZ) on 6 October. That was on soft ground but also proven on good ground. Usually settles back and finishes late. |
