1400m – Turf

Bayoun Despite a rising handicap mark he is sure to be one of the favourites with his high strike-rate including winning all four starts this year. Most significant was his highly impressive victory over 1600m here last month though this shorter trip may be an issue.
Repercussion Began his career in France and has now moved back there after a spell in the UK that included two handicap victories – racing prominently each time. He failed to handle G3 company and slow ground at Deauville but won a 1300m all-weather event at Chantilly last month.
Miracle Des Aigles Took a hike in the weights for winning a 1600m Deauville handicap earlier in the summer and has disappointed on two of his three starts since. His record also seems to indicate that he is better over further than this.
Rayon Vert Beat today’s rival Troizilet into 2nd in a 1300m conditions race on Deauville’s all-weather surface two back but is worse off at the weights in this 1400m turf handicap. Never played a serious part in a G3 here last time, having been sweaty beforehand.
Troizilet Has a very good record over this specialist distance of 1400m, landing a handicap here in April, also winning a local G3 over this distance in Prague on his latest start. Looks to have quite bright prospects in this open affair.
Grand Vintage A veteran now, he has only won three times but has collected plenty of placemoney and has some good Longchamp form over the years.
On The Sea He showed good acceleration to win over 1300m on the Deauville all-weather in August. Only beaten 2.5L when 6th in a G3 over this course and distance last month – a good effort considering he raced too freely early.
Millfield His last win came at Maisons-Laffitte over this distance more than a year ago. He is often well fancied and usually travels smoothly but doesn’t always find much for pressure. He will probably struggle here.
Post Var He can deliver a good finishing kick and he is also proven at 1400m with two of his four career wins coming over it. He ran two solid races at Deauville on his last couple of starts and, though he’s had a break since, he’s won after a break before.
Skalleto His two wins have come at French Provincial tracks and he has generally struggled around the classier Parisian tracks. He could not get competitive here at Longchamp last time.
Rominou Showed some decisive acceleration to win over this course and distance back in May. He ran a dismal race in a handicap back here last month but he did suffer some interference then and that performance may be best overlooked.
Bellcanto He’s had a few problems and  floundered in G3 company at Baden-Baden earlier this season but wasn’t beaten far in two French handicaps on his first efforts for his new stable.
Sinbad Has a very good place record but not so good for a win though he did narrowly land a soft-ground handicap over 1600m at Deauville in August. Despite his low strike-rate he does seem to try and appeared to fight hard when 4th at Longchamp last time.
Orangefield His two wins this season have come over shorter trips at minor tracks. However he is a tough and consistent type with a good win and place record. He tends to wait for a late charge.
Dylan Dancing Effective over this course and distance as he showed when 3rd in a strong handicap here back in June. However he has not been very convincing on his last few starts.
Shere Calm The winner of five of his 26 starts, the most recent coming last time over 1300m at Deauville in August, beating 15 rivals and looking well on top in the closing stages. Muddy ground may have caused a poor run over this course and distance in June.
Gris D’Argent A rare visitor to the Paris tracks and all his four wins (from 13 starts) have come at minor tracks. However he does arrive here in winning form and appreciates this trip.
