At the Kranji (Singapore) race meeting on 12 August 2018, Apprentice Jockey Matthew M F Poon rode PREDITOR to win the Jumbo Jet Trophy (Group 3). Rule of Racing 58(1) provides that a Group or Listed win recorded in a racing jurisdiction outside Hong Kong shall be taken into account for the purpose of calculating an Apprentice Jockey’s weight allowance.  Accordingly, the aforementioned win will take Apprentice Poon’s total number of recognized wins to 59.

Apprentice Poon will therefore continue to be eligible to claim a 5 lbs weight allowance until he records his 70th win in Hong Kong.
