G2 – 1600m – Turf
| Hydrangea | Extremely talented, and tough. Versatile also as she is effective at this trip but the Ascot G1 she won last October was over around 2400m. A beaten favourite on her return at the Curragh last month but her brilliant stable had not hit top form then. Big chance. |
| Promising Run | Has only raced twice in Britain since October 2016 but has done well in two Meydan campaigns that have featured three G2 victories, and not disgraced in G1 company on her last two starts there. She likes to sit close to the speed. |
| Aljazzi | Second at long odds in this last year – making rapid late headway. The only filly in the race she ran really well when third behind two race-fit rivals on her 2018 return in a G2 over this distance at Sandown in April. A tough and ground-versatile mare. |
| Arabian Hope | Goes well fresh – and won her first three 2017 starts -so the 256-day absence is OK. A close third at Newmarket (1600m) last July proved she could handle G1 company though she did twice disappoint in it after. Usually tracks the speed. |
| Billesdon Bess | Versatile groundwise but her last eight starts have been over further and she may struggle for speed against some classy opposition. Her usual tactics are to go from the front, tactics that saw her finish fourth in a Goodwood Listed race in May. |
| Lincoln Rocks | Has plenty to find on ratings with the likes of Hydrangea and Aljazzi and she was also well behind today’s rival Wilamina at Epsom earlier 18 days ago. Versatile groundwise, she has won seven of her 27 starts but is at Ascot for the first time. |
| Tomyris | Well beaten as an outsider in two G1 attempts but she won well in G3 company on her 2018 return over 1400m at Lingfield last month – coming with a strong surge on the fast surface. Lightly-raced, she lasts this longer trip and looks progressive. |
| Tribute Act | From a stable that have won this twice before. Has been supplemented into this after reportedly working very well at home and running a close second to today’s rival Urban Fox in a good handicap over this course and distance last month. |
| Unforgetable Filly | Hit her peak this time last year when she won a Listed event at Musselburgh and a G2 over this distance at Dusseldorf, both times making her move from midfield. Will be sharper for her 2018 return when third of four, but she’ll need to be. |
| Urban Fox | Looked as good as ever when winning a decent handicap off top weight here last month, – gradually closing and not having a hard race. That was her first start of the season and for this stable – also proving her liking for Ascot’s straight 1600m. |
| Wilamina | Consistent and likeable, and still improving. Earlier this month she won a G3 at Epsom without Frankie Dettori having to push her too hard. Back slightly in distance and, as stamina is her forte, is likely to be kept close up from the start. |
