The Stewards have been notified by Racing Victoria Stewards that Club Jockey Chad Schofield was found to have breached the relevant whip rule when riding MERCHANT NAVY in the VRC Newmarket Handicap (Group 1) which was conducted at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, 10 March 2018.

They have advised that Jockey Schofield’s licence to ride in races has been suspended for a period to commence on Monday, 19 March 2018 and to expire on Thursday, 22 March 2018 on which day he may resume race riding. As such, Jockey Schofield will not be eligible to accept race riding engagements at the Happy Valley racemeeting to be conducted on Wednesday, 21 March 2018.
