Share your photo at the BMW Hong Kong Derby this Sunday at Sha Tin Racecourse to win fabulous prizes

The BMW Hong Kong Derby is the ultimate prize in the three-race Four-Year-Old Classic Series, a once-in-a-lifetime challenge, it will be held this Sunday, 18 March, at Sha Tin Racecourse. Besides watching top-class horses in action, racegoers can enjoy a wealth of on-course attractions as well as appearances by Derby Ambassador Donnie Yen.

Fans attending the Derby meeting will each receive a BMW Hong Kong Derby Cap (photo 1) on admission to the racecourses before the start of Race 5, while stocks last.

International movie star Donnie Yen will be at Sha Tin Racecourse on the big day as Derby Ambassador to cheer on the Derby runners. He will also present souvenirs to the winning connections at the trophy presentation ceremony.

The HK$18 million BMW Hong Kong Derby will be run on turf over 2000 metres as Race 8. Dr. Simon S O Ip, Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, will officiate at the trophy presentation ceremony. Mr. Kevin Coon, Vice President of BMW Group Importer Office Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, Mr. Joseph Lau, Managing Director, Hong Kong and Macau, BMW Concessionaires (HK) Ltd, and Donnie Yen will present souvenirs to the winning connections after the race.

An array of on-course activities is available for racing fans to enjoy, including:

  • Racegoers can join the ‘This is #MyDerbyMoment’ photo contest for a chance to take home fabulous prizes including two winners of Samsung 55″ The Frame UHD Smart TVs valued at HK$29,880 each. To join the contest, fans must share their best photos taken at the BMW Hong Kong Derby Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 18 March, on Instagram with the hashtags #MyDerbyMoment and #BMWHKDerby;
  • A brand new series of Derby-themed merchandise, including sportswear and accessories, will be available for sale;
  • The latest BMW models will be exhibited at the Parade Ring and Public Forecourt for automobile aficionados to snap photos;
  • Culinary delights available at Mezza One, Sha Tin Racecourse.
