Resumed after nearly a year because of injury with a first-up victory over 1496m at Moonee Valley on 24 October. Placed 3 of 5 runs at track. Big show.

Kingswood

G3 2000m winner in 2024. Last 2 runs have been good, including 0.4L 2nd here first-up over 1700m. Honest galloper who can feature in this.

Major Beel

Just batted to the line when first-up on 18 October over 1600m at Randwick, finishing 4.32L 9 of 13. Rain-affected track would help.

Saint George

Charged home late to finish 0.4L 2nd in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) after failing badly in 2024 G1 Melbourne Cup (3200m). No wins under 2234m.

Athanatos

Consistent galloper with excellent recent form which includes a 1500m G3 3rd and then 4th in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m). Good at best.

Redstone Well

Much improved run on 1 November when raced just off the pace to hold on for 3.3L 3 of 15 in G3 2000m at Randwick.  Hasn’t won for more than 12 months.

Molly Bloom

Battled when finally got clear running in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) to finish 4.58L 10th. Needs to repeat previous 3rd in 1500m G2 at Moonee Valley.

Garachico

Had 2 1000m jump outs to prepare for this after last racing in G1 Sydney Cup (3200m) when 5.94L 6 of 20 in April. Has won at 1800m but big ask first-up.

Second run for new trainer. Held ground first-up when 6 of 9 in Listed Murray Bridge Cup (1600m). All 3 wins have been at 2200m.

Shaiyhar

Races well here but his form has dropped off in recent runs. Pulled up lame when last in G3 1500m. Needs rapid improvement.

Real Class

Huge odds at past few, including when he came from last to finish 5.73L 6 of 18 over 1600m at Randwick. Needs rapid improvement.

Flying Valley

Lightly-raced with 4 wins, a second and a third from 14 races. Was good at last start with 1.87L 6 of 13 over 1500m at Geelong. Competitive.
