Narrowly defeated Overpass and Ka Ying Rising in 1000m trial at Randwick on 7 October. Raced wide and without cover in G2 1400m when finished 7 of 16, beaten 3.39L on 6 September. G1 winner here at 1600m. Lightly-raced and hard to beat.

Depth Of Character

Big odds at last start when finished 12 of 12, beaten 5.31L in G1 1600m at Randwick on 4 October. Was good at start before when 3rd in G3 1400m. Rough place chance.

Shangri La Spring

Winner from 1200m to 2000m. Raced near lead first-up when 7 of 15, beaten 1.91L over 1200m. Others might be too sharp for him over the 1300m.

Imperial Force

Might have had a hoof issue when a disappointing 5.11L 8 of 9 first-up over 1000m at short odds on 6 October. Has good second-up record with 2 wins from 3 attempts. Worth another chance.

Mayfair

Resumes for new trainer. Hasn’t raced since finishing 2 of 15 over 1100m at Doomben on 24 May. Has been good in 2 trials. Rates as a major player.

Raikkonen

Raced handy and weakened first-up over 1200m at Randwick on 4 October when finished 9 of 15, beaten 2.09L. Has won second-up and although an increase in class, is place hope.

Lord Penman

Drops back drastically in class and distance after his last start 7 of 12, beaten 3.97L in G1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) when he made-up good ground at big odds. Has 4 wins from 10 races and can add to it here.

Point And Shoot

Last in both of his last two runs when resumed. Didn’t handle the heavy Randwick track when first up over 1200m in August and then was flat-footed and missed the start by 12 lengths over 1200m at Randwick. Has since had 2 good trials.

Sabaj

Resumes for new stable after putting together an impressive record in South Australia of 3 wins and 2 seconds from his 5 races. Has had two jump outs and a trial to prepare for this. Is Listed and G2 placed and could be competitive first-up.

Spicy Martini

Honest galloper but probably unlikely match it with the top few. Has been freshened for this after a 3.76L 6 of 8 in G2 1200m at Rosehill.

Gerringong

Likes to jump straight to the front and dictate terms. Used those tactics at last start when just beaten in G2 1400m. Will again give a big sight and worth following.

Snow In May

Two runs back have been sound, finishing 3rd and 4th and beaten less than 2 lengths in each. The 1300m is ideal but needs to keep improving.

Harlem Queen

Not the best of luck when finished last campaign with 7.79L 11 of 17 in Listed 1600m at Eagle Farm. Had a 1000m and 1200m trial to prepare for this. Has excellent first-up record and will be ridden for luck if she gets back in the field.
