G1 – 1400m – Turf

Roshvar Has won both 2025 starts and both at this specialist trip. Latterly he posted a clear career best when defeating seven rivals in a G3 here last month. On slow ground he looks to have a live chance.
King’s Gamble Beaten by the exciting Marvelman in a 1400m G2 last time at Doncaster. Has only a minor win on debut to his name, however, generally finding something too good in this company.
Devil’s Point Very smart on his day, including a G1 second at two and a win in last year’s G2 German 2000 Guineas. Absent for over a year until a modest recent comeback run so has something to prove.
Sajir Progressive and exciting type for his master French trainer. A convincing G1 winner over 1300m at Deauville last time. Entitled to be right at the centre of the action.
Zoum Zoum Decent fourth in Doncaster G2 last time but has largely spent his career at lower grade in Listed races or valuable handicaps. A lot more on his plate this time.
Topgear Not had everything go his way this year but there are encouraging signs in his form. A G3 victory over this track and distance back in late May, beating Sajir, looks very good now. Is worthy of giving another chance back at preferred distance.
Witness Stand Had a fine time since purchase by present connections last year. A G2 win at 1400m and respectable run behind More Thunder last time should allow connections to head here with some hope.
Geography Has picked up nice prizes over 1600m in his native Germany this season and won’t be lacking stamina. Could find a few too quick for him back in trip but capable of being in contention.
Zerostress Admirable veteran with decent form all around Europe. Does tend to be competing at a notch below this level and would be causing a huge upset.
More Thunder Huge improver this season for new trainer, almost winning at Royal Ascot and gaining a valuable handicap success. Looked right up to being a G1 horse in G2 1400m win at Newbury last time and every chance to prove class here.
Ten Bob Tony Excellent reappearance effort in landing G3 over 1400m at Haydock in late May but very ordinary when most recently seen on comeback. Going to need career-best to win.
Maranoa Charlie Gone extremely close on two attempts in G1 company, second in Prix Jean Prat and third last time at York when not getting the clearest run. Comfortable winner in G3 company over ParisLongchamp’s 1400m earlier in the year. Rates as a leading contender.
Exxtra Decent mare has finished sixth and fourth in this same race for the last two years. Had a few chances over this 1400m this season without looking as if she has progressed further.
Zarigana Highly-regarded and beautifully-bred filly who gained the G1 French Guineas after a stewards inquiry. Edged out in G1 Coronation Stakes when carrying her head awkwardly. Connections hope conditions will be ideal for a hold-up performance but there are now minor doubts.
Exactly Best winning efforts have been at 1400m, including G3 in Ireland last year, but may now be more suited by slightly longer trip. Stayed on very well for best effort in career behind Fallen Angel in 1600m G1 at Leopardstown. Place prospects.
Godspeed Likeable filly who made a big impression when comfortably landing 1600m G2 at Chantilly in June and decent run when fourth in G1 Prix Rothschild. Is going to have to improve again to feature strongly.
