HKJC Horse Race Betting Limited will broadcast a total of 11 overseas races in Hong Kong on Sunday, 10 August, including four races of Grosser Preis von Berlin Day from Hoppegarten Racecourse in Germany and seven races of Prix Maurice de Gheest Day from Deauville Racecourse in France. Bets will be accepted* for these races.

World Pool will be hosted (Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place, Forecast and Tierce) to ensure maximum liquidity for racing fans. Under World Pool branding as one of the betting partners of Grosser Preis von Berlin Day, the HKJC has naming rights for one race of the meeting, namely The Hong Kong Jockey Club World Pool Handicap (S1-2).

For Prix Maurice de Gheest Day, as with previous arrangements for the French outbound commingling pools△, Win and Place bets will be outbound commingled with the respective pools operated by PMU, the Club’s outbound commingling partner, in accordance with the modified horse race betting rules of PMU. Quinella, Quinella Place and other exotic bet pools will still be operated under separate Hong Kong pools. To provide more jackpot opportunities (referred to as “Boosters” in France), Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) of France will introduce a Jackpot Reserve for Win and Place bets. The deduct rate will be 0.1699% of the turnover for the relevant pool, which will be returned as jackpots for designated French races. For Prix Maurice de Gheest Day, a jackpot of EUR 120,000 (approximately HK$1,097,928) will be offered for the Win pool of S2-2.

The betting method for the outbound pools remains unchanged and is the same as the method for betting on Hong Kong pools. The odds are calculated according to PMU’s method, that is, the investment is deducted prior to the division of the dividend pool. The odds displayed will change to show the odds of the PMU pools when the Hong Kong investment of the current race has been outbound commingled with PMU, and after the dividends of the preceding race have been confirmed. The Place odds are the minimum value odds in the range.  In other words, the final Place odds could either be the same or higher than the value indicated. To enhance customers’ digital service experience, the Club has introduced arrow markers in the “Last Race Replay” videos for runners in overseas key races. These markers are designed to help customers track the performance of their selected horses. Visit the “Racing Info (Simulcast)” webpage to download the “Form Guide” and view the “Last Race Replay” videos in the past performance section for each horse.

Race times and betting pools
The simulcast races of Grosser Preis von Berlin Day are scheduled as S1-1 to S1-4, and are due to start at 6:50 pm on 10 August. During this time, there will also be the simulcast races of Prix Maurice de Gheest Day which are scheduled as S2-1 to S2-7, and are due to start at 7:56 pm in the same evening. Broadcast arrangements
Simulcast races will be broadcast on TV and radio. Customers can also review the overseas races at www.racing.hkjc.com one hour after each race has finished. The broadcasting arrangements for the simulcast races are as follows:

“S1” or “S2” must be indicated for overseas race bets
Customers betting with cash or through Digital Channels** on overseas races should mark the “S1 box” or “S2 box” and race number on the ticket or as required by the Digital Channels** interfaces. Those placing bets via Telebet should clearly indicate the overseas race and race number to the operators. Those using the 1886 Telebet Automated Services should input “overseas race” and the race number, respectively.

The odds and starter information for overseas races will be available at all OCBBs# and via Digital Channels**.

Ticket sales arrangement for the overseas races
Tickets for Grosser Preis von Berlin Day and Prix Maurice de Gheest Day will be available for sale from 12:00 noon on Saturday, 9 August. (Subject to further announcement by the Club)
