1600m – Turf
1 |
Power Under Me |
Has a touch of class and likely to come on for sixth in a very competitive Listed race here in March. Although he has plenty of weight and has done the bulk of his winning (six wins from seven) away from the Curragh. |
2 |
Coeur d’Or |
The veteran ran a huge race (fourth) (16-1) on Curragh reappearance – only just missing out on third. Plenty high in the weights, he could yet again prove vulnerable to some improvers but not discounted for a place. |
3 |
Chazzesmee |
Was second in this race in 2023. Has experienced mixed fortunes since then. Not disgraced when third of four at Listowel after a 337-day absence. Each-way possibilities. |
4 |
Love Billy Boy |
On a hat-trick following Naas and Leopardstown wins. His style of racing should give him every chance of seeing out the 1600 metres. An improver who could well be in the mix. |
5 |
Spoken Truth |
Clearly well regarded as was tested in Group Three company (last of eight) in May 2024. Has only raced once since and is not easy to situate. |
6 |
State Actor |
Loves it here and course record of 1-1-4-2-0 largely speaks for itself. Probably needed the race when 11th (not unfancied at 5-1) on reappearance. Fourth in this in 2024 and clearly capable of taking a step forward. |
7 |
Booyea |
Won this race last season. However, form has dipped in five subsequent starts. Although he’s one to keep an eye on if attracting market support. |
8 |
Akecheta |
The mare’s strike rate (ten per cent) isn’t much to write home about but she has low mileage on the clock (10 runs), and a repeat of her positive displays at the Curragh (sixth) and Epsom (second) would certainly give her a chance. |
9 |
I Am Superman |
His form has been mainly indifferent this season (on the go since February), and has tumbled down the handicap, but he ran one of his better races when fifth at Cork last time. |
10 |
Retracement |
This British import made an eye-catching Irish debut when fifth of 19 in competitive Irish handicap in May. Should logically improve for the run and is clearly one to consider. |
11 |
Serialise |
Looked to have some good cards to play at Royal Ascot only to disappoint (15th). Better judged on prior creditable second at the Curragh behind a rapidly improving type, and not impossible for a place if she puts her best foot forward. |
12 |
Urban Sprawl |
Has been very busy and won twice at Lingfield this season. Needs to raise his game on the evidence of his last two efforts. |
13 |
Slieve Binnian |
Tends to be at his most effective on the Dundalk all-weather (four wins), but still very capable on turf, having twice finished third in decent contests at Cork and the Curragh. Not dismissed lightly. |
