1800m – Turf
Anri Road | Extending the distance to 1800m worked her well and won 2-win class in January. Unable to make a successful transition from turf to dirt when 12th in this class (1800m) last time. |
Baronessa | Winner on both turf and dirt. Her performances have been underwhelming since stepping up to this class. |
Black Shield | Winless for more than two years. The key to success is likely to be his testing stamina and if the pace picks up, he has a good chance of holding on. |
Cosmo Shangri La | Showed upward curve in two starts this term. Her improvement has been gradual, but with each workout, she’s been showing better responses. |
Deep Rich | Well beaten in four starts in this class this term. Improvement needed. |
Logi Mambo | Finished strongly when 4.5L 5th in this class over this course and distance in November 2024, but he was unable to built on the race and showed little in recent four runs. |
Maruchan | Has shown upward curve in three starts since stepping up to this class. Clocked the fastest time for the last 600m to secure 0.8L second over this distance at Niigata last time. |
Meiner Nicholas | Finished out of frame in four starts this term. Seems to recover well from a short break and being in good condition coming into the race. |
Meliorem | Progressed a lot when 0.5L second in this class (2000m) at Tokyo last time. Expect to recapture his past glories. |
Neuse Tesoro | Showed convincing victories in the lower classes last year, but struggled to produce result since moving up to this class. |
Nishino Raiko | The brief freshening clearly had a positive effect, allowing him to bounce back with a solid performance when neck 3rd over 1600m on 10 May. |
Power Hall | Suffered disappointing finishes in his second and third starts this year. Showed his fight back effort to finish 2nd last time. |
Shonan Rapidus | The highly regarded colt purchased for 242,000,000 yen at JRHA Select Sale Foal session in 2022. Two wins in a row over this course and distance in the first two starts this term. 3L 4th in this class (2000m) at Tokyo last time. |
Sound Warrior | Had two-digit finishes in all three starts this term. Need more improvement in this class. |
Spark Richard | Has won the lower class (2000m) in February but well beaten in this class (2000m) at Tokyo last time. |
Teumessa | Last year’s G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) contender finished good 3rd in this class (1600m) in December 2024. Unable to justify her favoritism when nothing left in her tank in the stretch and finished last in this class (1600m) in February. Bounced back for 4th-place last time. |
Vulcano | Surged past to win 2-win class over this distance at Nakayama in March. Well-beaten last time. |
Win Odin | Showed a good turn of foot and finished 3.8L third in this class (2000m) in November 2024 but showed little in two starts this term. |
