G1 – 2400m – Turf

1

Leica Lucy

Outstanding New Zealand filly poised to make her Australian debut with a record of 6 wins and 1 second from 7 starts. Won the G1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) at her last start on 22 March. Big watch.

2

Treasurethe Moment

Class filly who has 8 wins and 2 seconds from 10 starts. Has won her past 7, including last start G1 at 2000m. Won the G1 VRC Oaks (2500m) last November so distance is no problem. Hard to beat.

3

Dubai Goldrush

New Zealand filly yet to race in Australia. Has won only once but has been excellent at 2000m and beyond. Finished 3rd in G2 over 2100m and then 0.4L 2nd in G1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m). Distance not a concern but this is a rise in class.

4

Verona Rose

Has 3 wins from her 4 career races. Had a clear run home in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes at last start but left run too late. Finished 3.36L 4th. Can improve again.

5

Belle Detelle

Has 2 wins, 2 seconds and a third from her 5 starts. Had no trouble stepping up to 2000m for first time last start for G3 win. Came out of maiden grade 2 starts back but has stacks of upside.

6

Sun ‘N’ Sand

Is consistent without showing she is up to this level.  Stretched out to 2000m for the first time last start for a 2.92L 4th at Randwick on 5 April when worked home okay. One of the outsiders.

7

You Wahng

Ran home strongly in G3 2000m Randwick on 5 April for 1.52L 3rd. Before that wasn’t too far off in G3 1600m. Distance shouldn’t be a problem. Has 2 wins and 2 thirds from 5 starts.

8

Miss Alexis

Has raced 4 times for one win. Broke maiden status over 1600m at Sandown and then tackled G3 2000m at Randwick for 4.12L 5th. Is out of champion staying mare Jameka.

9

Matrimonial

Faces a massive rise in class after breaking her maiden status at her sixth attempt on her penultimate start over 2000m. Then finished 0.95L 4th of 14 in restricted 2000m race at Ballarat on 25 March when had no luck. Creates interest at odds.

10

Ella Hazel

Came off a 1600m maiden win straight into the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) on 1 April for a battling 8.9L 7th of 9. Difficult to mount a case for her in a strong race.
