| 1 | Just Folk | Consistent galloper who would need to be at his best to be competitive. Might have felt the firm track at last start when 8.05L 8th in G2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on 1 March. Has since won a 1000m jumpout. Would like a soft track. |
| 2 | Amenable | Was ridden back at his first-up run in the G3 Newcastle Stakes (1400m) when charged home strongly to run 2nd by 0.2L. Has one minor place from 5 second-up runs. Will be improved. |
| 3 | Rediener | Was good first-up in the G3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) when held his position to finish 1.32L 4th. Failed to measure up last start when 5.55L 10 of 12 in G2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill. Hasn’t won since September 2023. Unlikely contender. |
| 4 | Willaidow | Front-runner who fought on strongly to finish 2nd, beaten 0.05L, in G2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on 15 March. Is now fourth-up after winning G3 1200m on return. Has now reached peak fitness and definite threat. |
| 5 | Encap | Big odds when resumed in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) when finished 4.23L 7th of 11. Slow away and settled at the back but did make up ground. Has good second-up record and likes the track. |
| 6 | New Endeavour | Wasn’t disgraced first-up in G2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) when finished 6 of 12, beaten 2.66L. Former European galloper yet to win in Australia but has a good second-up record. Worth following. |
| 7 | Sandpaper | Likes to jump straight to the lead in his races and has progressed quickly through the ranks in new stable. Scored most significant win of career with last start 0.2L victory in G3 Newcastle Stakes (1400m). Extremely consistent and chance again. |
| 8 | West Of Africa | Ran home strongly after settling back in the field and still had only 2 behind him at the 400m mark in the G2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on 15 March. Will need luck in the run but is in contention. |
| 9 | Berkshire Shadow | Drifted well back when first-up in the Listed National Sprint Quality (1400m) at Canberra on 9 March. Made up some ground to finish 2.48L 9 of 13. Has two minor places from 11 starts since arriving from the UK. Can race handy but this is hard. |
| 10 | Ducasse | Was good with first-up win over 1400m at Rosehill on 22 February and then tried hard at short odds but finished 2.64L 5th in G2 Ajax Stakes at Rosehill on 15 March when hard ridden and kept trying without threatening. Can bounce back. |
| 11 | Grebeni | Solid first-up performance in G3 Newcastle Stakes (1400m) when battled on well for 1.26L 3rd behind Sandpaper. Has won 3 of 4 second-up races, so must be respected in tough race. |
| 12 | Williamsburg | Runs best races on rain-affected tracks. Likes to race handy and is first-up for this. Finished off last campaign with new trainer with 8.84L 15 of 18 in G3 Sydney Stakes (1200m). Has been Group placed. Has had 2 trials to prepare to this, but it’s a tough assignment. |
| 13 | Lavish Empire | Was slow away and went back to last but worked home strongly to finish 5 of 13, beaten 1.63L, in Listed National Sprint Quality (1400m) in Canberra on 9 March. Rise to 1500m should suit but still rates as an outsider. |
| 14 | Sibaaq | Had some good performances in quality races in 2023 but has struggled to recapture that form. Had two trials before resuming over 1400m at Rosehill when he finished 2.09L third to Ducasse on 22 February. Second-up form is ok but hasn’t won since 2022. |
| 15 | Glint Of Silver | Past two races have been in weaker grades, including last start 7th of 12, beaten 2.09L, in restricted 1400m race at Rosehill on 15 March. Again raced handy and tried hard before fading. Needs dramatic improvement to feature here. |
| 16 | Jimi Hendrix | Former UK galloper who hasn’t added to his five wins in his 8 Australian starts. His overall local form is below average and beat only one home when 12th over 2000m in Listed ATC Cup in November in last race. Has had 2 trials for this first-up assignment. |
