G1 – 2400m – Turf
| Dubai Honour | Much-travelled UK-based stayer who hasn’t raced since finishing 2nd in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase (2400m) at Sha Tin last December when beaten 2.5L. Winner of three G1s. Will take beating. |
| Vauban | Former Irish-trained galloper who was transferred to the Waterhouse/Bott stable after finishing 11th in the Melbourne Cup (3200m). Won first-up on 15 March in G3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill when settled last. 2400m is ideal and top chance. |
| Arapaho | Won this race two years ago when scored by 0.32L. Has only one win since then in G2 Zipping Classic (2400m) on heavy track last November. Has had 3 runs back from a spell and finished 2nd in latest race in G3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) here. Likes rain-affected track. Chance. |
| Duke De Sessa | Quality gelding who won last year’s G1 Caulfield Cup (2400m). Resumed with G3 1600m win last month and was unlucky last start when 2nd over 2000m after being held up. Has been freshened for this. |
| Zarir | Lightly-raced French gelding also making his Australian debut. Has 4 wins and 2 seconds and 2 thirds from 11 starts in France. Has been placed at G1 and G2 level and is likely to measure-up in this. Last raced in G2 2400m at Longchamp in September when narrow second. |
| Circle Of Fire | Raced in 4 consecutive G1s at last campaign when best effort was 2.71L 6th in 3200m Melbourne Cup. Two runs back have been okay with latest effort 3.25L 4th in G3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on 15 March when raced handy. Not the worst. |
| Land Legend | Finished 3rd in last year’s G1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) and raced handy and faded for a 3.32L 8th in 3200m Melbourne Cup. Has had two runs back and was one-paced at latest when 11.28L last over G3 2000m. Is a G1 2400m winner and can improve. |
| Asterix | Is a G1 and G2 winner over 2400m in New Zealand but has yet to be placed in his 3 Australian runs. Was fancied at last start when finished 1.97L 5th over 2000m at Randwick on 8 March. Rise in distance suits, but this is tough. |
| Zechariah | Will find this really tough. Didn’t have any luck last start at Randwick over 2000m when held up from the 400m to the 100m mark and still managed to finish 0.64L 3rd. This is a big rise in class. |
| Waltham | Much improved run last start when dropped back to a restricted 2400m race on the Gold Coast. Held up on the home turn but once got clear finished strongly to win by 1.3L. This is huge increase in class. |
| Warmonger | Solid Sydney debut when worked home strongly second-up to finish 0.6L 2nd in Listed 2000m race at Randwick on 8 March. Won the G1 Queensland Derby at this distance and is capable of running a bold race if he has luck in the run. |
| Kinesiology | Was only fairly away at last start when finished 9.42L 5th in G3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill. Was a prolific minor place-getter in Ireland and has been placed once in 4 Australian runs. A wet track would enhance his chances. |
| La Crique | New Zealander making her Australian debut. Has an imposing record with 9 wins, 9 seconds and 4 thirds from 26 starts. Is a G1 winner who has finished 2nd in past four runs. Earns respect on her NZ record. Has been placed at her only 2400m run. |
| River Of Stars | High-priced European mare making her Australian debut for Chris Waller. Is a multiple stakes winner of 4 races from 15 starts and is also a G1 placegetter in France at last start in October when raced wide. Leading chance. |
