HKJC Horse Race Betting Limited will simulcast a total of 12 overseas races in Hong Kong on Saturday, 8 March, including five races of New Zealand Derby Day from Ellerslie Racecourse in New Zealand, three races of Newmarket Handicap Day from Flemington Racecourse in Australia, and four races of Canterbury Stakes Day from Randwick Racecourse in Australia. Bets will be accepted* for these races.
Due to the simulcast post time arrangement, the start selling for all betting pools for the Sunday’s Sha Tin Day Race Meeting (9 March) will be delayed by at least one hour from the originally scheduled time of noon on 8 March (Saturday) to around 1pm on the same day.
For races of New Zealand Derby Day, World Pool will be offered (Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place, Tierce, Double and Treble) to ensure maximum liquidity for racing fans. World Pool will also be offered for Newmarket Handicap Day and Canterbury Stakes Day (Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place and Tierce). Under World Pool branding as one of the betting partners of the three meetings, the HKJC has naming rights for three races of the meetings, namely HKJC World Pool NZ Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (S1-1), TAB & World Pool Kewney Stakes (S2-2) and HKJC World Pool Wenona Girl Quality (S3-4).
Race times and betting pools
The simulcast races of New Zealand Derby Day are scheduled as S1-1 to S1-5, and are due to start at 9:47 am on 8 March. The simulcast races of Newmarket Handicap Day are scheduled as S2-1 to S2-3, and are due to start at 12:30 pm on the same afternoon. The simulcast races of Canterbury Stakes Day are scheduled as S3-1 to S3-4, and are due to start at 12:50 pm on the same afternoon. Details of the post time and betting pools are:

“S1”, “S2” or “S3” must be indicated for overseas race bets
Customers betting with cash or through Digital Channels** on overseas races should mark the “S1 box”, “S2 box” or “S3 box” and race number on the ticket or as required by the Digital Channels** interfaces. Those placing bets via Telebet should clearly indicate the overseas race and race number to the operators. Those using the 1886 Telebet Automated Services should input “overseas race” and the race number, respectively.
If “S1”, “S2” or “S3” is not indicated as required, any bets placed will be accepted as bets for the corresponding local race.

Ticket sales arrangement for the overseas races
