In accordance with the usual practice of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, urine and blood samples were obtained from all favourites at the Sha Tin racemeeting conducted on Sunday, 4 February 2018 including HAVE FUN TOGETHER, 5th placegetter, in the Fu Tai Handicap.
The Stewards have received a test report issued by the Head of Racing Laboratory, Dr T S M Wan, advising that the post-race blood sample taken from HAVE FUN TOGETHER on analysis has shown the presence of salicylic acid, the concentration of which exceeds the international threshold for that substance in plasma. Dr Wan has also advised that the post-race urine sample taken from HAVE FUN TOGETHER was found to be negative for salicylic acid whilst the pre-race urine sample taken from HAVE FUN TOGETHER on the morning of 4 February 2018 was also found to be negative for salicylic acid.
Mr F C Lor, trainer of HAVE FUN TOGETHER, has been advised of the analyst’s findings. The independent official racing laboratory which will analyse the referee sample (B sample) has yet to be confirmed.
The matter is now adjourned to a date to be fixed.
