1300m - Turf

1

Le Tabou

He comes here at the top of his game after scoring game win in Class 2 company. Fresher than some of these and has clearly peaked at the right time.

2

Apax

Is coming off two positive displays at a higher level over around a mile. However, he did win here in the spring and should take the drop back in trip in his stride.

3

Purest Time

He did well to claim Class Two honours in July. Has blown hot and cold since but not dismissed. Fourth in this last season.

4

Pedrito

Is back to defend his title. A slow burner this season, he did surprise at Deauville two starts back, but now required to defy a career high mark.

5

Kimi Orenda

Has struggled to recapture past glories for current trainer (a German listed winner for previous handler) until obliging here at about 12-1. More required now but clearly back in form.

6

Major Oak

Has made big strides forward this season (four wins) and humbled his rivals in similar grade two starts back at Deauville. Not as effective on soft ground since but certainly worthy of a reprieve.

7

Rock Boy

This consistent type has a touch of class (a G3 winner in 2022). Appeared to find the 1200m at Deauville (fourth) too sharp in August, and longer trip should play to his strengths.

8

Agat

Probably saw too much daylight when fifth (from an outside draw) on last start, but not impossible that he could bounce back if recapturing early season sparkle.

9

Short Final

Has been more than holding his own in Class One/Two races. Comparatively lightly raced, he could have yet more to offer.

10

Tudo Bem

Honest sprinter who invariably gives of his best. However, he hasn’t won for two seasons and probably again destined for a supporting role.

11

Freja

Justified favouritism when swooping late to win a lady jockeys’ race at Deauville, but has taken a sharp hike in the weights.

12

Megarry

This Irish import was pitched (unsuccessfully) at higher end races earlier in the season, but interesting contender now that he has tumbled down the handicap.

13

Etel Du Ninian

Has lost her way since winning at Saint-Cloud in May, and little encouragement to be had from latest (last) effort.

14

Royal Shake

More downs than ups so far this season but last time out fourth here was certainly a step in the right direction.

15

Aversa

Weakened in the closing stages of a decent contest (fifth) at Vichy last time. In better form (two wins) earlier in the season and betting could be the best indicator.

16

Wild West

Seems to have lost his way after Chantilly success in April, and so hard to fancy on current form.

17

Torpen

Has proved frustrating to follow this season (0 from 10), but he ran one of his better races when a close third at Chantilly last time. Interesting outsider if in the mood.

18

Lucky Wine

A beaten favourite here last time, he only just failed (second) and could prove troublesome again off current mark. From a top stable.
