Mr Brightside

Won this race last year and finished a narrow second when resumed in the G1 Memsie Stakes (1400m). Has an excellent strike rate at 1600m and has only missed a place once second-up. Has won six G1s and will be hard to beat.

Pinstriped

Underrated gallop who broke through for his maiden G1 victory in the Memsie Stakes (1400m). Is likely to settle back in the field but he’ll be charging home. Just needs some luck in the run to again be in the finish.

Circle Of Fire

Former European galloper who hasn’t raced since winning the G1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick in April. Finished 7th in a 1200m trial at Cranbourne in late August. Has won over 1600m in England and has good first-up form but this is a tough assignment.

Antino

Solid run in the G1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) when she settled last and finished off okay to be placed fourth, beaten 3.65L. Will be coming home hard but this is tough.

Warmonger

Has progressed sharply since winning a 1500m maiden at Mornington last October. Is a last start winner of the G1 Queensland Derby (2400m) in June, winning by 10.4L. Impressive winner of Cranbourne 1200m trial last month. Lightly raced runner that commands respect.

Pride Of Jenni

Brilliant front-running mare who faded in her first-up run over 1400m in the G1 Memsie Stakes at short odds to finish 5th. Is much better second-up. Expected to bounce back over more suitable 1600m.

Atishu

Has raced six times at the track for three wins and two minor placings. Is a G2 winner at the track and distance. Was okay first-up in the G1 Winx Stakes (1400m) when finished 9th beaten 3.37L. Will appreciate the rise to 1600m.

Via Sistina

Former European G1 winner who made a sparkling debut in Australia with a last-to-first victory in the G1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill in March. Couldn’t run down Pride Of Jenni in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) but won first-up in G1 Winx Stakes (1400m). The one to beat.
