Will need to be razor sharp to win this off top weight 388 days after his previous start. Showed lots of ability in 2023, latterly a close fourth in a G2 over 1400m at Goodwood.

Indian Run

A 1400m G3 winner here at York as a 2yo. But soundly beaten in every start since so its takes imagination to think that he can win this hot handicap.

Dosman

Showing plenty of quality in three starts so far and conceding weight when third to a subsequent runaway Deauville Listed winner at Newmarket in June.

Midnight Gun

Race by race progress by this two-time winner, latterly when a close third in a hot Goodwood handicap. Drops back down in trip for this, but that won’t be a problem.

Mount Teide

The winner of two of his last three starts, notably when leading throughout to win a 1600m Newmarket handicap this month. With chances here despite a 7lb rise.

Native Warrior

Plenty to commend him including his third in a Royal Ascot handicap and a close second at Goodwood earlier this month.

Blue Prince

Pushed out by his rider to beat 17 rivals in a 1400m Goodwood handicap late last month. A 4lb rise for that good effort looks fair enough.

Crown Estate

Mostly good efforts this season especially when last seen in late June landing a 1600m Salisbury handicap, fast from the gates and never getting headed.

Ebt’s Guard

Has only won a maiden but placed plenty of times in stronger company than that and unlucky not to win on a couple of occasions, including at Goodwood this month.

Paborus

Has easily justified favouritism by winning both starts this season – on contrasting ground conditions. Not seen for 95 days and up in trip but interesting on this handicap debut.

Volterra

Showed that he had trained on into a 3yo when easily winning a 1600m Newmarket handicap on his 2024 debut. But has twice found things tougher off higher marks since.

Treasure Time

The winner of a 1400m fast ground Newmarket handicap in June. Has run to about the same level off higher handicap marks in two starts since. One of plenty with winning chances.

Usuario Amigo

Gelded prior to his latest start and that seems to have delivered some improvement judging by his close second in a 1400m Newmarket handicap this month.

Apiarist

Two solid runs in handicaps since being gelded, when fourth over this trip at both Ascot and Goodwood. Could easily make an impact, and with Hollie Doyle riding him for the first time.

Sailthisshipalone

Not beaten far in any of his four starts this season, including over this course and similar distance last month. He just needs to find an extra finishing kick.

Tokenomics

This has been the plan for some time for this Irish challenger who has improved to win handicaps on his last two starts – at Dundalk and Leopardstown. Slow ground wanted.

Zain Blue

Despite racing too keenly and wandering around in the closing stages, he won an Ascot handicap in July. Not so good at Newmarket later when again racing too enthusiastically.

Madame De Sevigne

Has been raised 4lb for her latest start, responding to strong jockey pressure to win a 1400m Leicester handicap in July. However, the form of that race does not look strong.

Candonomore

May need soft ground to show his best, those conditions saw him land a maiden in April. Has not improved on that run in subsequent handicap efforts.
