G1 – 1600m – Turf

1

Marhaba Ya Sanafi

The surprise 2023 French 2000 Guineas winner. Last of 11 to Inspiral in the Marois last season. Encouraging second in G3 prep in July. Has role to play on best form.

2

Quddwah

Unexposed four-year-old. Stretched his unbeaten record to four from four when a career best run in G2 over 1594m in July. Skipped G1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood to run in the Marois. Should be suited by this track.

3

Charyn

Enjoying a superb four-year-old campaign. Won his third race from four this season in style as favourite in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot over this distance. Trainer optimistic of a big run again.

4

King Gold

Well beaten in last Sunday’s Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1 1300m) which he won 12 months ago. Quick reappearance. Others make more appeal.

5

Big Rock

Ultra smart miler. Second when favourite to Inspiral in last year’s Marois. Won a prestigious G1 at Ascot late last season, but hugely disappointing on two starts since changing trainers this year.

6

Inspiral

The 2022 and 2023 Marois heroine under Frankie Dettori is attempting a never before achieved three-timer. Has yet to reach her best form this term when fourth in G1 Lockinge Stakes on five-year-old debut, and sixth in Prince of Wales’s Stakes over 1993m.

7

Metropolitan

Classy French 2000 Guineas winner. Good effort in only outing since when third, beaten just over three lengths, in the G1 St James’s Palace Stakes (1594m) at Royal Ascot, to the winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas.

8

Haatem

Second to stablemate Rosallion in the Irish 2000 Guineas, beaten only a head. G3 scorer over 1400m at Royal Ascot since. Missed the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood as connections targeted this Deauville showpiece.
