| 1 | Joker Man | Has been in excellent form up at Turffontein. He has the best draw and a top rider up so will be a huge contender for top honours. Definitely a horse to keep a close eye on. |
| 2 | Get Impressed | Holding form well. Keagan De Melo is aboard which is a huge plus, his last run was good and he will be there from a decent draw. He looks to have plenty of ability. |
| 3 | Imilenzeyokududuma | Has always been highly thought of by the yard and is very capable of making the frame. He has been fancied in recent starts however has never been far back. He will need to pick up his feet to go with them here respectfully. |
| 4 | Itsrainingwilliam | Is a smart sort and finished in front of Imilenzeyokududuma in his last start. He has a top rider up and cannot be discounted in this competitive contest. |
| 5 | Prince Of Taranto | He takes on some real hard knockers here and may find this opposition tough respectfully. He could run into the quartets if bringing his ‘A’ game. |
| 6 | Mary’s Greenlight | She takes on the boys here but has been holding her own in recent runs. She has a handy galloping weight and if things go her way, she will be finishing fast in the closing stages as a decent pace is expected which could suit her. |
| 7 | Countdown | He wasn’t beaten far in his last start when taking on a lively field. On his overall form he seems to just finish behind them in his last two starts, it must be noted he now goes over the 1600m trip compared to his most recent runs and could sneak a place on best form. |
| 8 | Richard The First | Takes on much stronger than he has been running against and this field could be very testing for him. He has always been rated by his trainer however he will really have to pick up his feet to feature here. |
| 9 | The Grey King | His form is solid. He has run behind some of the best 3-year-olds around which makes him a serious contender. If things map out for him, he could smash this field. |
| 10 | Sundance Kid | Wasn’t beaten far by Durban July winner Oriental Charm. He can be unreliable at times but is very capable on his day however others are preferred. |
| 11 | Money Heist | Ran above expectations in his last start from a bad draw. He can produce a big finish and represents upset material here so warrants respect. |
| 12 | Grinkov | His last two runs have been uninspiring and he could find this company very tough. The draw won’t make things any easier and others are preferred. |
| 13 | Formagear | Hasn’t had much luck with draws in recent starts, when he did crack a reasonable enough draw, he beat The Grey King who is a serious contender here. He should be thrown into larger perms. |
| 14 | Pomodoro’s Jet | Received plenty of betting support in his last start however failed to live up to expectations. He seems to run well over this shorter trip of 1600m compared to recent starts so could make the frame. |

| 15 | Juliet Tango | If she does get a run, she may find this company extremely tough. In her favour she does shoulder a light mass but others are preferred. |
| 16 | The Shepherd | He was holding form well prior to his last run however was drawn wide on that occasion. If he does get a run from a decent draw, he could sneak a place. |
| 17 | Spelling Bee | Won extremely well in a much lower division carrying top weight in his last start. He will have to step up his game here to feature if he does get a run. |
