Bella Nipotina

Stretches to 1400m for the first time. Was gallant in defeat at last start in G1 over 1300m at this track in Kingsford Smith Cup and has also won at that distance. The rise in distance is a risk but she is a brilliant mare.

Magic Time

Is a dual G1 winner at 1400m. Had no luck in the Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) when began awkwardly, lost a plate and was galloped on during the run. Is back to full fitness and with a clear run is capable of making amends.

Antino

Forget last start in the Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) when he raced wide throughout. Loves the track where he has raced seven times for five wins and a third. Has two wins and a third from three tries at the track and distance. Big show.

Benedetta

Hasn’t raced since winning the G1 The Goodwood (1200m) on May 11. Has won twice at 1300m but is yet to venture to 1400m. Ran fourth in a 1000m trial at Doomben on 4 June. Certainly a contender.

Cepheus

Has won up to 2500m, but is yet to register a victory since October last year when he scored at 1400m at Rosehill. Last raced in March in G1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) when led and faded at huge odds. Has had two trials but not up to these.

Vilana

Comes into calculations after winning last week’s G2 Moreton Cup (1200m) by 3.67L at Eagle Farm. Finished 10th in this race last year and has improved significantly this preparation after being gelded. Has won at 1400m. Chance again.

Here To Shock

Has won at the distance six times and comes off a last start win in the G3 BRC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben on 25 May. Likes good or soft ground. Can race handy and is capable of producing a big finish.

Nugget

Former European galloper who won three in a row soon after arriving in Australia in 2022. Has been solid in good races but has not won for nearly 1.5 years. Was a close fourth in G1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) in April. Not keen.

The Inevitable

Veteran galloper who is capable enough on his day. Was good first-up in the G3 BRC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben when came from last to finish seventh, beaten 1.91L. Second-up record is good with four wins and a second from eight tries. Place chance at odds.

Amenable

Narrowly beaten when 0.39L second in G1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) on bog track at Randwick. And then no luck in the run with a big weight when charged home to finish second, beaten 0.09L, in Listed Luskin Star Stakes (1300m) at Scone. Big chance.

Prince Of Boom

Yet to win at the distance in four attempts but was solid last start when third, beaten 1.09L in the G3 BRC Sprint over 1350m.  Hasn’t won since this time last year when scored at the track over 1200m in G3. Others better.

Osipenko

Was big odds when beat one runner at most recent start in the G1 Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m). Has won once at 1400m but is best suited to longer distances. Hard to recommend on recent performances.

Mighty Ulysses

Specialist at 1600m. Won the Brisbane Mile Quality Listed (1600m) two starts back. Raced handy at most recent run when fourth on a heavy track on the Sunshine Coast in the G2 Hollindale Stakes (1800m). Likely to find these too slick.

Semana

Has a solid record at the distance with four wins and two seconds from six attempts. Finished third at her last start, beaten 1.28L, in the G1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick. Needs to keep progressing to figure here.

Dream Hour

Hasn’t done much this campaign. Finished fourth, beaten 2.14L, in a 1200m handicap at Doomben at most recent outing. Is a 1400m winner at the track but would need massive improvement to make an impact.

Steparty

Had excuses at last start in the G3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) when raced wide throughout. Came from last at the 400m to be beaten 3.53L. Will give some cheek with light weight.

Stefi Magnetica

Comes in on the minimum of 110lb and is a genuine lightweight chance. Struck trouble in G1 Doomben 10000 when 1.48L fifth.  Was third at last start, beaten 1.64L in G3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) at Eagle Farm. Big player.

Roll On High

Struggled to break through in quality races this campaign before winning her last start by 0.5L in the G3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) at Eagle Farm. Charged home strongly from well back. Worth sticking with and should benefit from minimum of 110lb.

Reserves

Freedom Rally

Progressive type who will have plenty of support if he makes the final field. Has performed well at Listed, G3 and G1 level at past three runs. Raced handy in the Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) when finished fourth. A win is close.

Yellow Brick

A G3 winner over 1200m. Is a last start Listed winner over 1500m at Eagle Farm when worked home strongly despite having over-raced. Has raced at the track for five times for three wins and two seconds. Can challenge.

Strait Acer

Hasn’t won since stringing together three consecutive victories last August/September. Past three runs have been okay. Was beaten 2.15L in most recent run in G3 BRC Sprint (1350m). Entitled to be big odds.

Aureus Angel

Isn’t performing at the required standard to be a serious contender. Won the Listed Bright Shadow (1100m) and then struggled at next start over 1200m. Others much better.

Cifrado

Comes in on the minimum. Blinkers come off for the first time. Hard to mount a case for after last start 12.26L 15th in G3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) when raced wide, over raced and struggled on soft going.
