Lapin Rapide

Miho-based gelding has had good results, including over Tokyo 1800m, since switching from dirt. Early speed. Handled heavy going well last race. Possible amid this field.

Meiner Forza

Has best a fifth in last eight starts, including many over less demanding venues. Likely not competitive here.

Meisho Sanga

7-year-old chronically finishing unplaced was raced 2 weeks apart and posted a second over the Niigata 1800m last out at the end of April. Another tough turnaround but could be on a roll. Often breaks slow, but has late speed. Could possibly make the money.

Purple Admiral

Initially raced over dirt with poor results and best one third, then moved to jumps with one poor showing on turf in between. Lacks speed all around. Likely not competitive here.

Spinning Marlin

Has recorded only double-digit finishes in last six starts since rising to this class. Races from rear, additional distance likely not a help.

Thurston Chicago

Posted a best fourth just 2 weeks ago over Tokyo 2000m for the first time in seven starts. Tends to lead. Drop in distance a plus but competition a tad higher. Worth a wager to fill out a trio.

Tosen Walt

Coming off three jump races with bleak results prior at this distance over turf. Did break maiden over Sapporo 1800m. Has demonstrated late speed, but is an unknown. Wild card.

Vispamente

Came closest in five races to notching second win with third over Chukyo 2000m. Chronically late at break makes drop in distance a likely minus. First time at Tokyo. Possible amid this field.
