A close third over this course and distance in April 2023 but did much less well here last September. Led for most of the trip when shaping nicely at Kempton on his 2024 return.

Torito

Although only raced four times last year he looked a progressive type, handling Epsom’s gradients neatly to win there, and then fourth in a Royal Ascot G3 after a difficult trip.

Liberty Lane

Didn’t make a major impact in a prestigious handicap over this course and distance last September but the fast ground was against him then. Maybe too high in weights right now.

Bopedro

Has been trained in France, Ireland, Dubai and now the UK where he won over this Rowley Mile course at Newmarket last April, though failing to show quite the same flair in the same race last month.

Mr Professor

The quick pace and slow ground helped him land a surprise 33-1 success in a prestigious handicap over Doncaster’s straight mile in March. Up 7lb with easy ground preferred again.

Hafeet Alain

Had three runs in Hong Kong in 2020, but this veteran posted one of his career best efforts when beating 16 rivals in a 1600m handicap here last month. Can’t be ignored if in the same shape.

Westerton

Only win so far in maiden company but he has gone close to winning several handicaps. Mostly competes over further than this so a swift gallop would be in his favour.

Lattam

On his first start since changing stables he ran an excellent second of 20 in a prestigious early season handicap over Doncaster’s straight 1600m. But couldn’t build on that at Newbury.

Lion Of War

Back with his former UK trainer after two moderate efforts in the US. Surely best on a quick turf surface, conditions that saw him go close to winning a Royal Ascot handicap last June.

King’s Code

Winner of seven of his 20 starts, three of those on a turf surface. This big gelding is likely to find a few more progressive types too strong.

Stay Well

Beaten in his last 12 starts though there have been some fair placed efforts. Looks to face a challenging task on this 2024 return.

Dutch Decoy

Quickening ground would be a plus for this gelding who came very close to gaining a tenth career victory in a 1600m handicap here last month. Looks nicely handicapped on that evidence.

Theoryofeverything

Gelded and changed stables after his penultimate run and those manoeuvres may pay off judging by his close fourth (only 1/2L behind the winner) in a 1600m handicap here last month.

Majestic

Clearly very happy over this course and distance judging by his defeat of 27 rivals in a prestigious handicap in 2022. Hasn’t managed a win since but good efforts continue.

McLean House

Having his first run on turf, having won five of his ten starts on all-weather surfaces. His last four runs have all been solid including two handicap victories at Lingfield.

Mustazeed

His four wins have come over a bit further than this, the latest being a 2000m victory at Newbury about a year ago. Likely to find things difficult here.
