The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) announces today (1 November 2023) that the proposals of adjusting maximum number of simulcast races have been approved by the HKSAR Government. The proposals allow the Club to (i) increase the maximum number of simulcast races scheduled per racing season on a local race day from ten to 25 races; and (ii) increase the maximum number of races per simulcast day from nine to 12. The proposals will take effect from 1 December 2023.

The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau has also approved the Club’s proposal of arranging a replacement day race meeting on 26 December 2023 at Sha Tin Racecourse and transferring the night race meeting scheduled at Happy Valley Racecourse on 27 December 2023 to 29 December 2023.
