1200m – Dirt
Ashitaba | Finished consistently in the top three until rising to this class, after which posted 9-11. Likely outclassed. |
Chase the Dream | Ritto-based filly reached 3-win class on fourth start. Returned after 3 months off in early Oct. to take on Nakayama 1200m. Weight high, agitated in gate, reloaded to far outside. Quickly tired due to high pace to finish last of 15. Will have weight advantage of field, but still asked to carry 4 lbs more than her top weight thus far. Talented, but needs favorable trip, right mindset. |
Diorama | Finished a promising 4th on first start after rising in class, but three starts since have ended in double-digit finishes. Last two finishes in money were both over left-handed tracks. Not promising. |
Gold Lagoon | Has toiled at this level for 3 years, with only 2 finishes in the top three, five on the board. Did manage a second nearly a year ago over the Nakayama 1200m, with next start 10 months later ending in a 10th-place finish. Not promising. |
Jet Emblem | Five previous starts at this level with constant change of riders brought dismal results, but last out in early Nov. showed sudden improvement. Finished fourth with a more relaxed, smoother trip and new partner Cristian Demuro. Prospects now brighter. |
Jigen | Has finished consistently in the top three since rising to this class 12 starts ago, but has failed to win. Has been second or third in last five starts in as many months. Distance, venue not a problem. Needs just a bit of luck. |
Lincoln Tesoro | Four-year-colt has 6 starts at this level. Started poorly with double-digit finishes in first three, due largely to kickback. More mature now and racing hood with mesh goggles has seen huge improvement recently. Posted 7-2-5 in last 3 starts, including Nakayama 1200m. Promising. |
New Frontier | First start at this level. Four-year-old found footing after breaking maiden on 8th try. Has made top three in all but one of 7 starts since. Clinched third win in early Nov. at Hanshin. First time at Nakayama. Good speed. Racing style should suit venue. |
Noah Vigorous | Has best a 6th (three of others double-digits) in six starts at this level, all sprints. Likely not a contender here. |
Pier Chic | Returned for first time in a year for 6th over Hanshin 1200m in early Dec. Was consistently on board in 9 starts at this level. Good speed, but races from far off pace. Second time at Nakayama. Worth a wager. |
Red Lancer | Off board in three starts since moving to this class. Lacks speed. Not promising here. |
Reves Lien | Big filly showing sudden improvement since racing at Tokyo. Posted 1-2-2 in last three outings under new partners Mirco Demuro, Keita Tosaki. Has ability. Hard to tell if venue or rider were key. Finished 5th in only previous Nakayama run. Ample chance. |
Rhein Garuda | Second start at this level after 7th at Hanshin mid Oct. First time at Nakayama. Racing style may suit venue. Could surprise. |
Taiki Sword | Raced primarily over turf. Early this month was given first dirt start (over Hanshin 1200m) in nearly 2 years. Ran solidly despite initial reluctance due to kickback. Recovered for strong drive to finish in third. Has 2-5 from earlier bids over Nakayama 1200m dirt. Ample chance. |
Waltz for Run | Miho-based mare posted 4-5 since returning after layoff. Has ability and consistently makes top five. Could make money with smoother trip. |
Wide Kant | Has only one finish in money, four on board in 16 starts at this level. Not looking particular good in work. Runs hot and cold. Chance of making the top three poor. |
