G1 – 1600m – Turf
1 |
Benbatl |
Winner of eleven from 24 starts, the latest being a G2 victory at Newmarket – ridden aggressively as usual. This looks tough but good or fast ground would help his cause. |
2 |
Lord Glitters |
Can deliver a terrific surge from the back, as he did when winning a G1 at Meydan this year. His other G1 win came over this straight mile back in 2019. |
3 |
Njord |
Best on a slow surface but he didn’t run well on heavy ground at Longchamp last time. He looks outclassed at this level. |
4 |
Palace Pier |
Has proven again and again that he is one of the world’s best 1600m horses, though only third in this last year, his only career defeat. Showed his battling qualities with his G1 win at Deauville last time. |
5 |
The Revenant |
Second in this two years ago, and he won it last year with Palace Pier amongst his victims. Almost won a G2 at Longchamp this month, but really does need slow ground to excel. |
6 |
Baaeed |
One brilliant performance after another for this unbeaten three-year-old colt. He did come under pressure on his G1 debut at Longchamp last time but put his head down and accelerated clear. |
7 |
Lady Bowthorpe |
Kept on powerfully to win her first G1 at Goodwood in July, but much below that when a disappointing favourite at Deauville. If back to her best she has a small chance. |
8 |
Master Of The Seas |
Has won a G2 and G3 from seven starts, and had only failed by a short-head to win a G1 Newmarket Classic back in May. Best chance of a surprise victory on quick ground. |
9 |
Alcohol Free |
Three-time G1 winner who most recently produced a tough and classy display at Goodwood. Back to the trip she is so effective at after her stamina clearly ran out at York last time. |
10 |
Mother Earth |
This tough and consistent filly kicked off the season with a G1 Classic victory over this trip at Newmarket, and has not run a poor race since. All ground conditions come alike. |
