| 2 | Tristful | An inconsistent runner. Carrying 132 lb against these rivals, it’s hard to imagine him being competitive. A place finish will be a surprise. |
| 3 | Seeking The Stars | Three of four career wins, including his two Grade 3-successes, have come over 1400m. The question is whether he will run on in this. |
| 4 | Got The Greenlight | With five Grade 1-titles to his name, he looks the runner to beat. An ultra-consistent performer, he has only finished out of the Quartet once in his career. |
| 5 | Catch Twentytwo | Twice runner-up in Graded races recently. Could be the value bet. |
| 6 | Jet Dark | Has not run over further than 1600m, so this might be at the top end of his range. A slow pace will suit, but that is unlikely in this field. |
| 7 | Warrior’s Rest | Lost his form at the beginning of the year and seems not to have benefited from a rest. Unlikely to feature. |
| 8 | Crown Towers | Ran the best race of his career over this course and distance when winning the G3 Cup Trial. Likely to set the pace for stable companions but can surprise and hang on for a place. |
| 9 | Do It Again | This two-time Durban July winner loves Greyville, with three G1s and a G2 victory at this track on his resume. Expect nothing less than a top-three finish. |
