Racegoers wanting to dress for a unique fashion moment need look no further than the Gentleman’s Bow Tie Day at the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy race day, to be held this Sunday, 22 October at Sha Tin Racecourse.
On a day that celebrates dapper style and elegant timepieces, racegoers can soak up the annual occasion’s atmosphere as male racegoers dress up in bow ties, while ladies accessorise their outfits with something equally stylish – and bow-shaped!
After Race 3, a spectacular watch and fashion show, displaying luxury timepieces, will be held in the Parade Ring. Celebrities Elanne Kong and Oscar Siu will take the lead on the runway, showing off evening wear by renowned fashion designer Pius Cheung.
Mezza One, the food plaza at Sha Tin Racecourse, will present two themed food items, whilst a sales counter on 1/F of the Members’ Enclosure will feature limited edition bow ties designed by up-and-coming Mainland China designer Weixu Wang and other accessories with equestrian and horological themes. Wang’s new collections are named “Golden Time”, “Glorious Moment” and “Embroidered Glory”. A “Best-Dressed Award” will be held in the Members’ Enclosure for Members and guests donning bow ties or bow-shaped accessories to win an exquisite wrist watch.
Two Group 2 races – the Premier Bowl (1200m) and the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy (1600m) are scheduled as Race 7 and Race 8 on the day, to start at 4:10pm and 4:40pm respectively. Chairman of the Oriental Watch Holdings Limited Dr Yeung Ming Biu, accompanied by his wife, Managing Director Mr Dennis Yeung Him Kit, accompanied by his wife and Executive Director Mr Alain Lam Hing Lun, accompanied by his wife will respectively present a souvenir each to the winning Owner, the winning Trainer and the winning Jockey of the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy.
