Join the Chinese New Year Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on Monday

The Chinese New Year Raceday will be held at Sha Tin Racecourse on Monday, 27 January, the third day of the Chinese New Year, and will mark the Year of the Rat with thrilling races and spectacular on-course activities.

$68 million mega prize to mark Chinese New Year

A total of $68 million will be on offer to mark the Year of the Rat.  An estimated dividend of $16 million awaits the holder of a single $10 winning unit for the Triple Trio at the race meeting on the third day of the Chinese New Year (27 January), as the pool will be topped up from the Triple Trio Jackpot Reserve. The Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for the third leg of the Triple Trio and the last race, i.e. Race 7 and Race 11 will also be allocated a jackpot of $1 million each.

Meanwhile, the estimated First Division Prize Fund for the Mark Six Chinese New Year Snowball Draw, to be held on the fourth day of Chinese New Year (28 January), could reach $50 million.  Tickets for the Snowball Draw are available now.

Highlight races of the CNY Raceday

The highlights on the race track will be the Hong Kong Classic Mile (first leg of the Four-Year-Old Classic Series) , the Chinese New Year Cup and the Centenary Vase. There will be 11 races on the day, with the first starting at 12pm. Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 10am for admission.

Spectacular on-course activities

  • Start the day with a variety show led by a mass drum show with acrobatic performance, while feng shui master Clement Chan will share his fortune tips with racegoers, and there will be a traditional lion dance at Parade Ring. Jockeys will also be in attendance to wish fans good fortune and prosperity for the Chinese New Year.
  • Get personalised lucky tips from feng shui master Clement Chan via an online fortune tips zone. He will also make an appearance to provide more fortune tips to racing fans at the racecourse on the day.
  • Visit the fortune feng shui formation designed by feng shui master Clement Chan at the racecourse Public Forecourt to bring racegoers luck.

Unique range of CNY-themed merchandise

“Gift at Races” presents “Good Fortune” series with Chinese lucky characters. The series will be launched on 27 January at Sha Tin Racecourse. All merchandise items will be available at designated sales counters and Gift at Races souvenir shops at Sha Tin Racecourse. Customers can also purchase from the online shop www.giftatraces.com.
