Kelowna Star
A winner of five races and placed nine times from 26 runs in Macau including a win in the Macau Guineas (Group 1) in 2016. Has since won twice at Group 2 level on the all weather surface with his last win coming in the Autumn Trophy over 1600 metres (sand) back in November.
Recent form has been a touch disappointing with battling 10/10 beaten 13 ½ lens in the Macau – Hong Kong Trophy 1500 metres behind Romantic Touch on good to yielding track on March 4. Then followed a better effort when 7/11 beaten 4 ¼ lens to The Alfonso in the Group 2 Directors Cup on April 28.
Definitely would have stronger claims if the rain comes.
Mister Kaopu
Very speedy galloper that ran a personal best time of 1.07.9 at latest win over 1200 metres on a good track on April 1st. Beaten 3 ¾ lens when placed 3rd over 1500 metres in the International Mixed Doubles Jockeys Challenge Cup in January 2017 behind Hostwin Galaxy on a good track.
Has won six races and placed four times from 18 starts in Macau. Best performances at the 1200 metre trip. The Sha Tin 1400 metres could be a slight query but will be in the race for a long way.
Krystrump
Very talented racehorse that at times has not enjoyed the best of luck in a lot of his races. Latest run chased home Romantic Touch in the Macau – Hong Kong Trophy over 1500 metres on March 4th. A winner of four races and placed eight times in 16 runs in Macau from 1200 metres to 1800 metres. Generally gets back so the big Sha Tin straight will suit and has a powerful finish.
The best of the Macau runners by far.
Victory Megastar
Speedy customer that has won all his races in Macau on the all weather surface. Latest was running on well late for 6/8 beaten 3 ¾ lens to River Bobo over 1050 metres sand on April 14.
Record reads well with four wins and three placed efforts from 13 runs in Macau, but all wins have been at 1350 metres on the sand. Turf form from the UK not inspiring and would need the heavens to open up to be competitive here.
