G1 – 2000m – Turf

1

Cavallerizzo

Hard to beat after winning the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes over 1600m at Hanshin on 21 December. Finished powerfully last start and is one of the top chances.

2

Sound Move

Winner of one of four starts, scoring in a Kyoto maiden over 1800m in November. Recent form has been respectable, but this is a steep rise in class.

3

Sanono Greater

Has won two of five starts including a powerful effort to win over this course and distance in December. Made up plenty of ground when fifth in G2 over 1800m here on 15 March. Place hope.

4

Lovcen

Won G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) here at only second start on 27 December and then surprisingly defeated when third in G3 over 1800m at Tokyo on 15 February. Top chance here.

5

Ask Edinburgh

Very consistent colt who has shown quality with G1 third over 2000m and last-start second in a G2 over 1800m on 15 March. Must be considered.

6

Forte Angelo

Chased bravely when second to Lovcen in the G1 Hopeful Stakes over this course and distance on 27 December. Done little wrong in short career and one of the main chances.

7

Lord Filer

Won 2000m maiden at Niigata in August before fighting strongly when good second to Matenro Gale in Listed Wakaba Stakes (2000m) at Hanshin on 21 March. Must be considered.

8

Matenro Gale

Very consistent with two wins and three seconds from only five starts. Stormed from midfield to down Lord Filer in Listed Wakaba Stakes (2000m) at Hanshin on 21 March. Place hope.

9

Reichsadler

Yet to miss a place in three starts and ran on strongly when second to Basse Terre in G2 over this course and distance on 8 March. Definite chance.

10

Large Ensemble

Has won two of past three starts, including Listed Sumire Stakes (2200m) at Hanshin on 21 February. Drops in distance but is a course and distance winner.

11

Peintre Naif

Promising type who has won past two in succession, including G2 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes (1800m) at Tokyo, defeating Zoroastro on 24 November. Respect.

12

Green Energy

Winner of his past two starts, including G3 Keisei Hai over this course and distance on 18 January when he surged from the home turn to score. Another leading hope.

13

Acrophase

Winner of one of four starts and has quickly risen to black type level with a second in a Listed race over 2000m at Kyoto before finishing third in a G2 over 1800m at Nakayama. Not the worst.

14

Zoroastro

Racing really well and yet to miss a place in five starts with two wins and three minor placings. Caught the eye with G3 win over 1800m at Kyoto on 10 February. Worth considering.

15

Realize Sirius

Winner of three of four starts and a dual G3 winner, including last-start success over 1800m at Tokyo on 15 February. Another of the leading hopes.

16

Altramuz

Boasts two wins from three starts, including last-start victory in the G3 Mainichi Hai over 1800m at Hanshin on 28 March. Definitely worth considering.

17

Admire Quads

Has to be respected with two wins and two third placings from only four starts. Fought on strongly when third over this course and distance in G2 on 8 March. One of the chances.

18

Basse Terre

Comfortably won maiden at Hanshin over 2000m in December before impressive victory in G2 over this course and distance on 8 March. One of the leading chances.
