G2 – 2450m – Turf

1

Radio Star

Finished a solid sixth behind some smart three-year-olds in the recent G1 HKJC World Pool SA Classic (1800m) and looks one of the bigger players stepping up in trip here. Each-way chance.

2

Tommy Shelby

Has been up for a long time and has been mixing his form, but does get in OK at the weights in comparison to some of his rivals. Outside place hope.

3

Copper Eagle

Comes through one of the main lead-up contests, finishing fifth in the Listed Hawwaam Stakes (2000m) on 14 March behind reopposing trio Diogenes, Texas Missile and Master Spy. Would need to improve significantly to trouble the placings.

4

Salani Kahle

As lightly raced as anything in the field, this colt has won two of his four career starts and another step forward here would not surprise. Keep safe.

5

Texas Missile

Found only Diogenes too good in the Listed Hawwaam Stakes (2000m) at Turffontein on 14 March and has drawn nicely here. Should be right around the mark.

6

Titans Of War

Ran well when finishing third over the Turffontein 2400m in December and saluted two starts back, but disappointed last time out and may just lack the class to figure here.

7

Bellerophon

Is one horse who should definitely run the trip after prevailing over 2600m two starts back, but could only manage sixth in the Listed Hawwaam Stakes (2000m) and likely lacks the zip to compete here.

8

Master Spy

Rarely runs a bad race and his third in the recent Listed Hawwaam Stakes (2000m) stacks up well with a handful of his opponents here, but gate 13 doesn’t help his cause. Place chance.

9

Sword Speed

Last-start winner looks to have plenty of improvement to come after two wins from four starts and the step up to 2450m could well work in his favour, but a race of this calibre likely comes too soon.

10

Diogenes

Made it two wins on the bounce with victory over a number of these in the Listed Hawwaam Stakes (2000m) last time out and looks well placed to have a say here. Winning chance.

11

Culturati

Broke his maiden three starts back and followed that up with a second, but struggled stepping up to Listed level last start and doesn’t yet look up to this grade.

12

Reign On Impact

This is a significant step up in grade for a horse who is yet to show anything special. Gate 9 is not ideal and others appeal more.

13

Curious Girl

Progressive filly has answered every challenge thrown her way so far in 2026, winning three races on the bounce, and she looks the one to beat here. Strong chance.
