G1 – 1200m – Turf

1

Lazzat

Was pipped by the reopposing Reef Runner in the G2 1351 Turf Sprint (1351m) at King Abdulaziz last month but is the class runner of the field and can turn the tables here. Top chance.

2

Reef Runner

American galloper has been in a rich vein of form and has taken to the Middle East with aplomb, snaring the G2 1351 Turf Sprint (1351m) at King Abdulaziz last month. Main danger to Lazzat.

3

Lugal

Japanese speedster is a G1 winner on home soil and he arrives in Dubai in solid form. He should be right at home down the Meydan straight and looks a strong each-way hope.

4

Khaadem

A two-time G1 winner at Royal Ascot, the 10-year-old was last seen finishing miles behind Ka Ying Rising in December’s G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m). Will give his all but this looks beyond him.

5

Cover Up

British galloper has hardly put a foot wrong during his Middle Eastern swing, winning twice and also running third, but this is a much stiffer test and he looks a place hope at best.

6

Great Wish

Finished 2.8L behind the reopposing Native Approach when fourth in one of the main lead-up contests and it’s hard to see him finding the improvement to contend here.

7

Native Approach

Snared the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (1200m) at this course and distance last start to suggest he can hold his own here, but he looks more of a place hope than a winning one.

8

Marbaan

Finished sixth behind Believing in this race last year and his recent form suggests a midfield finish is the most likely outcome again.

9

Run Boy Run

Was second behind Native Approach in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (1200m) on 28 February but would have to find plenty to impact here. Prefer others.

10

Arabie

Has been OK in three Meydan starts this season but this is a big step up and it looks a stretch in his first run for new trainers Antonio Cintra and Julio Olascoaga.

11

Monteille

Has held her own at G1 level in Europe and was solid enough first up for nearly five months when seventh in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (1200m). May need one more run, however.

12

Rayevka

Was a close third down the Ascot straight in the G1 Commonwealth Cup (1200m) last June and should come on for a first-up fifth in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (1200m). Each-way hope.

13

Northern Champion

Lone three-year-old in the field has been racing well in lower grades and gets in nicely at the weights. Could pinch a place with further improvement.
