G2 – 2410m – Turf
1 |
Rebel’s Romance |
Globetrotting superstar is yet to show any signs of slowing down and he returns to Meydan in the hunt for more success. Is a G1 winner at this course and distance and it would take a brave punter to oppose him. Big chance. |
2 |
Keffaaf |
Only raced three times last year, winning and finishing third in January before running fifth in February. Returned with a distant ninth over the Meydan mile last month. Is still building his fitness and doesn’t look a player here. |
3 |
Passion And Glory |
Another veteran, the 10-year-old hasn’t raced since a moderate showing during last year’s Royal Ascot carnival. Was second in this race last year, however, and a return to Meydan might just spark him up. Outside place chance. |
4 |
Burdett Road |
British galloper’s two starts on this Middle Eastern mission have netted a Meydan second and a ninth in the G2 Red Sea Turf Handicap (3000m) in Saudi Arabia on 14 February. Drops in trip and others appeal more. |
5 |
Kihavah |
A prolific runner in Britain over a number of seasons, connections have turned to the Middle East with their nine-year-old. Has been OK in two of three recent starts at Meydan but meets stronger company here and is unlikely to be a factor. |
6 |
Crystal Black |
Another switching Europe for the Middle East this winter, the eight-year-old has failed to fire in two Meydan starts and this looks a stiffer test. Prefer others. |
7 |
Ruling Dynasty |
Local galloper is a last-start winner however that came in a handicap contest and he looks poised to be well out of his depth here. Look elsewhere. |
8 |
Fort George |
British galloper has taken a liking to Meydan, producing a second and a win from two recent starts. This is a much stiffer test, however he remains an each-way chance. |
