G2 – 1351m – Turf

1

Annaf

Won this race two years ago before returning to run sixth 12 months ago. Saluted for the first time since that 2024 Riyadh success last start and should again be competitive. Place chance.

2

Comanche Brave

Improving colt had a lead-up run in the Listed Abu Dhabi Gold Cup (1600m), finishing third, and has built a solid record over distances similar to this. Outside chance.

3

Fortune Time

Produced a close third behind strong opposition in the G2 Hanshin Cup (1400m) last start and was successful at Tokyo a run earlier. This looks a tougher test but there might be some improvement in the five-year-old.

4

Geography

Five-year-old gelding has his first start since being bought by Saudi connections. Was last seen running fifth in the G1 Prix de la Foret (1400m) on 5 October and may just need the run here.

5

Lazzat

Had a big 2025, winning the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (1200m) at Royal Ascot and finishing second at the same track in the G1 British Champions Sprint Stakes (1200m) last start. Very hard to beat here.

6

Love De Vega

After resuming from a long layoff with a 14th-placed finish, this local galloper returned to form with a last-start second behind the reopposing Zefzaf. This is different class though and others appeal more.

7

Marvelman

After a solid run of form that featured a G2 success at Doncaster, has been freshened since a disappointing showing in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (1600m) in October. Each-way chance.

8

Panja Tower

Showed his versatility by winning the G1 NHK Mile Cup (1600m) and the G3 Keeneland Cup (1200m) at home in Japan before producing a nice fifth behind the brilliant Autumn Glow in November’s Golden Eagle (1500m) at Randwick. Leading hope.

9

Reef Runner

American galloper snared a 1300m G2 at Santa Anita before finishing fourth in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (1000m) in November. Maintained his form with a Listed success at Gulfstream Park last start and looks every bit a place chance.

10

Shin Forever

Finished second in the G3 Saudi Derby (1600m) on dirt on this card last year and steps back to an unfamiliar trip for this contest. Form has been ordinary and is unlikely to figure.

11

Zefzaf

Won the qualifying race over this course and distance on 16 January and has strung together a solid run of recent form. Meets richer company here, however, and will have his work cut out.

12

Zio Jo

Has been racing well without saluting for some time now, with his winning drought stretching back to 2024, but a forward showing would not surprise here. Each-way chance.

13

Time To Dazzle

Five-year-old mare gets a weight allowance of 5lb and enters the race off a last-start win after snaring a G2 at Keeneland in October. Has some ability but might be a level off the top liners in this contest.
