1100m – Turf

1 The Us Of A Enjoyed a fruitful 2025 with four wins from nine starts, saluting once at this course and distance and running second at his other attempt. Was unlucky when finishing eighth on 13 January and is one of the top hopes here.
2 His Majesty Was off the track for more than 12 months after leaving the Aidan O’Brien stable in Ireland and moving to South Africa. Has been solid in his two starts since returning to the races but likely needs more fitness under the belt to show his best.
3 Dance Variety Is capable on his day and was a course-and-distance second two starts back before finishing 15th last time out, however that was in a G2 over 1200m. Could trouble the placings if at his best.
4 Lucky Lad Hasn’t won since July 2024 but has met some strong fields since then, including latest when running 10th in the G1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship (1000m) on 10 January. Will enjoy racing in this company and can figure.
5 Arctic Wizard Went on a run of three wins from four starts beginning in June last year but has failed to impress over this course and distance in his past two outings, running 11th and then seventh. Look elsewhere.
6 Kaiboy Course-and-distance winner in July last year has mixed his form since but showed enough when running third over 1000m last start to suggest he can challenge for a placing here.
7 Elusive Winter Five-year-old gelding has won three of his past five starts and hasn’t missed a placing in six runs. Loves to race on speed and could be hard to run down.
8 Surjay Was only a 1.55L off the winner when fifth in the G1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship (1000m) on 10 January and that form should stack right up here. Leading chance.
9 Absolutely Yes Three-year-old reeled off three wins and two seconds from his first six starts. Has found the going tougher in better company since but ran in the G1 Cape Guineas (1600m) last start and looks an each-way hope down in grade and trip.
10 Teflon Man Beat home The Us of A, who should be right in the market here, when running fourth last start and has been racing solidly enough of late. Looks one of a string of gallopers capable of fighting out the placings.
11 Cafe Culture Another to run well in the G1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship (1000m) last start, finishing just behind Surjay in sixth, and looks well placed to have an impact here. Not to be ignored.
12 Good For You Made a strong start to his career with three wins and six placings from his first 10 runs, including victory in the G1 Gold Medallion (1200m) for two-year-olds. Struggled in the G1 Cape Guineas (1600m) but is a big chance back in trip.
13 Future Variety Reeled off a hat-trick of wins before finishing last year with two underwhelming performances. Connections will hope a freshen-up can help him produce his best. Prefer others.
14 All The Rage Three-year-old colt has won four of his seven starts and finished third in the other three. Is the most exciting horse in the field and looks well placed to confirm his promise.
15 Pistol Pete Has his first run for James Crawford and may take improvement from a change in scenery. Recent form has been fairly solid and he could run a cheeky race at odds.
16 Meu Capitano Looked like he needed the run when finishing ninth, beaten by 6.95L, when first up for nine months on 13 December. Will likely take more improvement from this run.

17 Three Tigers Finished only 2.55L behind this weekend’s likely favourite, All The Rage, when finishing fourth last time out on 21 December. Can figure.
18 King Regent Has failed to beat more than one runner home in any of his past three starts and would need a sharp turnaround in form to be competitive. Look elsewhere.
