Gentlemen’s Raceday will deliver a racing extravaganza at Sha Tin on Sunday (25 January). Headlining the action is the HK$13 million G1 Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m) and HK$13 million G1 Stewards’ Cup (1600m). The Centenary Sprint Cup kicks off the Hong Kong Speed Series, while the Stewards’ Cup is the first leg of the Triple Crown.
Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses commences at 10:30 am, with the first race at Sha Tin scheduled for 12:30 pm. Racegoers are invited to dress to impress with a stylish outfit, featuring blue elements, and participate in the Best Dressed Award contest for a chance to win prizes.
Popular singer-songwriter Jay Fung will debut in the Parade Ring at Sha Tin to officially open Gentlemen’s Raceday and serving as the Gentlemen’s Raceday Ambassador and judge of the Best Dressed Award.
Two Group 1s highlight an unforgettable day Style with Ka Ying Rising motif
11 races are programmed at Sha Tin, led by two Group 1s. Hong Kong Horse of the Year Ka Ying Rising contests the Centenary Sprint Cup, striving to match Silent Witness’ 17-race unbeaten streak, while Triple Crown hero Voyage Bubble aims to win a third Stewards’ Cup and faces 11-time Group 1 winner Romantic Warrior.
Racegoers who wear or bring Ka Ying Rising clothing or accessories can enjoy free admission to Sha Tin’s Public Enclosure.
Jay Fung performs and will crown Best Dressed Award
The day begins with an opening performance by Jay Fung at 11.15am in the Sha Tin Parade Ring ^. Jay Fung will be also serving as the Gentlemen’s Raceday Ambassador and judge of the Best Dressed Award.
