| 5 | Mente Et Manu | Is racing in red-hot form, with three wins and a close fourth from his past four starts, and he looks poised to jump near the top of the market. Can salute. |
| 6 | Please Be True | Was a course-and-distance winner among two victories from 11 starts last year. Drops back in trip slightly after a last-start fourth over 1500m at Kenilworth. Can figure. |
| 7 | Powerandtheglory | Drops back in class after running 11th in the G2 Cape Merchants (1200m) last start. His form before that was solid, notching a third and a victory, and he’s among the chances. |
| 8 | Dawn Till Dusk | Hasn’t raced badly in recent times, saluting in August and holding his own in two of three starts since, however he looks likely to be left wanting against this field. |
| 9 | Aversator | Another stepping into calmer waters, the three-year-old colt finished 11th, 7.9L behind winner Jan Van Goyen, in last month’s G1 Cape Guineas (1600m). Is lightly raced and open to improvement. |
| 10 | Sunset Riot | Showed early promise with two victories from his first five starts but couldn’t add to his win tally through four starts in 2025. Prefer others here. |
| 11 | Coastal Commander | Hasn’t won in nearly 18 months and that doesn’t look like changing here. Connections hope the addition of blinkers will extract his best. |
| 12 | Noble City | Winless from his past 12 starts and has struggled to make any sort of impact in most of those outings. Will need a lot to go right to feature here. |
| 13 | Touched By Angels | Three-year-old has compiled an impressive record early in his career, landing two wins and two placings from four starts. Enters this contest off the back of a convincing course-and-distance victory. |
| 14 | Chasingtherainbow | Four-year-old is a proven winner after four victories through 10 starts and looks one of the better chances here. Was below his best when eighth last start but can be forgiven. |
| 15 | Hat’s Pride | The wide barrier makes life hard but he has been racing in good form with a win and two placings from his past three starts. Certainly worth considering on a place line. |
