G1 – 1800m – Turf

1

Hazy Dazy

Started her career brilliantly with five wins from seven starts and will continue her pursuit of the South African Triple Tiara here after a last-start victory in the first leg, the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m). Looks very hard to beat.

2

Golden Palm

One of a number of these to finish in Hazy Dazy’s wake in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m), crossing the line 3.1L back in third. Again looks a strong each-way chance but winning might be a stretch.

3

Charge It

Split Hazy Dazy and Golden Palm in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m) on 7 February and again looks the former’s biggest danger here. Has won at the course and distance and will go close again.

4

Lowveld Lily

Was a nice fifth in December’s G1 Cape Fillies Guineas (1600m) and then ran fourth in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m) last start. Might be a level below the top ones here but isn’t far off. Place chance.

5

Littlemissmillion

Rounded out the top five in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m), finishing 4.6L adrift of Hazy Dazy. Has won three of five career starts and is an each-way chance here.

6

Daisy Jones

Sixth at long odds in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m) and finds at least a few too good for her more often than not. Prefer others.

7

Drumnadrochit

Lightly-raced galloper has won two of four career starts but was a little way off the best of her rivals here when running seventh in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m) last start. Would need to improve to figure.

8

Tina Lovelace

Victorious in her second career start, she has failed to repeat the dose in 12 subsequent runs and was making up the numbers against a swag of these in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m) last start. Look elsewhere.

9

Scarlett Heart

While this filly is the most exposed galloper in the field with 17 starts, her best form has come of late with consecutive victories heading into this contest. The step up in class is sharp, however, and she might not quite be up to this level just yet.

10

Merryweather

Compiled a nice run of form heading into the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas (1600m), winning twice and running third four times from six starts, but failed to fire in the stiffer test, beating home only one rival. Prefer others.
