Finished 1.6L fourth to Tentyris in the G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) here on 14 February. Will be competitive again at good odds in tough race.

Tentyris

Exciting three-year-old colt on the verge of super stardom after claiming G1 victories at past two, including first-up Lightning Stakes (1000m). Will lump plenty of weight but has outstanding straight form.

War Machine

Has had two Flemington jump outs since finishing 3.5L third in G2 1200m at Pakenham when started favorite on 23 January. This is harder.

Angel Capital

Leading hope for powerful Chris Waller stable. Finished sixth, 2.02L from Ka Ying Rising in last year’s G1 The Everest (1200m). No luck when resumed in G2 1200m on 14 February. Can fill a place.

Sepals

Resumes after having a solid spring campaign which netted a G1 1400m win.  Has had three jump outs to prepare for this but all of his five wins have been at 1400m.

Caballus

Has a win and third at the track and distance which puts him in the firing line. Was second to Joliestar at last start after leading in G2 1200m. Worth some consideration.

Benedetta

Had no luck in the G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) when finished 1.5L third at big odds. Also finished third in the Lightning last year and tenth in the Newmarket Handicap. Creates interest.

De Bergerac

Had no luck in G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) when held up over the latter stages of the race to finish 7.07L 12th of 13. Is a 1200m winner here in much lower grade. Too much improvement required.

Disneck

Won G3 at the track and distance first-up on 10 January. Then pulled up lame in G3 1200m on 31 January when beat one home in race not run to suit. This is no easier.

Gallant Son

Jumped up in grade massively when 3.25L third at last start in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) on 21 February. Has won a lower grade 1000m race here.  Could give cheek at odds.

Geegees Mistruth

Took no competitive part in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) when reared and walked out of the barriers. Has since trialled okay and while she has ability, this is a tough task.

Sghirripa

This is just too tough. Hasn’t raced at this level for a long time.  Will need to find quick improvement after last start eighth of 11 at Morphettville over 1200m.

My Gladiola

Only found Tentyris better in the G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) when beaten 0.75L. Has finished second to Tentyris twice at past three starts and will need luck to turn it around.

Wodeton

Resumed with solid 2.93L third in G3 1200m at Randwick on 7 February behind champion filly Tempted. Has plenty of minor placings but only one win from 10 starts. Could fill a place.

Pallaton

Is a G3 winner at Caulfield over 1200m on 21 February. While lightly-raced and talented, unlikely to trouble the top few here.
