The Club has resolved to grant a Freelance Jockey’s licence for the remainder of the 2025/2026 racing season to Ellis C W Wong to take effect on the day following the racemeeting at which he rides his 70th race winner in Hong Kong. 

As Jockey Wong rode his 70th winner in Hong Kong at the Happy Valley racemeeting held on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, he will ride as a Freelance Jockey at the Sha Tin racemeeting scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

Accordingly, his weight allowance will automatically reduce from 5 lbs to 3 lbs with effect from 1 March 2026.
