G2 – 1200m – Dirt

1

American Stage

Japanese galloper who produced a nice fourth in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (1200m) in November and while he disappointed over 1200m on home soil last start, he still looks one of the better chances.

2

Colour Up

Has been racing well without winning at home in Dubai and this looks like a slight step up, however a bold showing at odds would not surprise.

3

Don Amitie

Is a prolific winner of dirt 1200m races in his home country of Japan and was fourth behind the reopposing Yamanin Cerchi two runs back, however was disappointing last start and others appeal more.

4

Echo Point

Veteran galloper enters this contest off the back of consecutive seconds at Meydan but he looks to be a level below his main opponents this weekend.

5

Imagination

Found only one too good in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (1200m) last start, finishing two lengths ahead of American Stage, and he looks the one to beat here.

6

Just Beat The Odds

Has raced only sparingly in recent years but has rarely disappointed when he has made it to the track and he saluted at G3 level at Aqueduct last start. Has the form to be competitive and can place.

7

Lovesick Blues

Snared the G1 Bing Crosby Stakes (1200m) at Del Mar last July and was last seen running sixth in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (1200m) in November. Genuine top-three chance.

8

Muqtahem

Finished second in this race last year and has reeled off five consecutive victories since. May lack the class of the real top end here but should be in the mix late in proceedings.

9

Royal Zabeel

Makes a sizeable step up in grade after winning a Listed race over 1215m on the Southwell all-weather track last time out. Has drawn well in three but others appeal more.

10

Self Improvement

Hong Kong galloper is one from one on overseas missions after scooping the G3 Korea Sprint (1200m) on the deep Seoul sand in September, however has lacked form on home soil since. Outside place chance.

11

Transferred

Has been racing consistently in lower grades and was a winner over 1351m on turf two starts back. Is also a course-and-distance winner but is out of his depth here.

12

Yamanin Cerchi

Japanese sprinter has been in hot form, winning three of four starts through the back half of 2025 and running second in a 1200m G3 on the Nakayama dirt. Each-way chance.

13

Gabby’s Sister

Finished third in this race 12 months ago but was in better form then, winning the G3 Capella Stakes (1200m) in the lead-up. Could only manage fourth in that race this time around, two places behind Yamanin Cerchi, and would need to improve to figure.
