Lightly raced five-year-old placed four times from his first five starts before reeling off two consecutive wins. Looks well-placed for his hat-trick bid and can deliver.

Drops in trip after a last-start fifth over the Kenilworth 1800m. Low draw will help but looks more likely to place than add to his one career victory.

Form has been moderate since a September success and connections will be hoping the addition of blinkers bring out the best in him. Can improve and is a place hope.

Blind Date

Three-year-old broke through for his first win at start two and has been around the mark without winning in four starts since. Looks well placed here and should be right in the finish.

My Bestie

Eight-year-old hasn’t saluted in nearly a year and his best looks to be very much behind him. Looks unlikely to measure up against this lot.

Balzi Rossi

Three-year-old gelding has shown improvement through his 10 starts and hasn’t missed the placings in his past three runs, winning once. Place chance.

Captains Alliance

Has been gelded since his last-start fourth over the Kenilworth 1800m and the blinkers come off. Is a course-and-distance winner and could improve here.

Set To Music

Was racing in top form through the middle parts of last year and is a last-start winner, however that victory came in September and he will likely be in need of the run here.

Loving Prague

Three-year-old colt boasts one win from four starts but could only manage 11th when last at the races on 10 January. Gets out to the mile for the first time, however, and could improve.

Smarten Up

Finished only 0.3L behind Foudre over this course and distance on 4 January and could challenge that galloper for favouritism here. Top chance.

King’s Quest

Hasn’t been racing badly of late and is a winner at the course and distance so should not be discounted completely, but others appeal more.

Rockanrollin

Three-year-old colt broke through for his first win at start five when last seen at the races on 13 December and is a place hope here if he can build on that showing.

Spirit Of Levana

Has produced an uninspiring 12 months or so and will be up against it from the wide draw here. Hard to see her figuring.

Gran Canaria

Has struggled in recent starts over the mile and would need everything to go his way to figure, which is hard to see happening from gate 15.

In A Timely Manner

Has shown enough in his first five starts to suggest he has some sort of future, winning once and placing on two other occasions. Wide gate makes life tough here, however.

Deandre’s Dream

Impressed when saluting on debut at Greyville in July but hasn’t been able to back up that showing in two starts since. Prefer others.
